A wet start for much of Scotland with showers or showery outbreaks of rain for parts of northern England, Northern Ireland and extending into mid Wales and perhaps southwest England. Remaining parts of England and Wales will be essentially dry with a mix of sunny spells and variable cloud cover. Temperatures will be lower compared to recently, especially across southeast England – This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 28/06/24. 00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Friday morning. It's been a lively
00:05night with coastal gales across the north and northwest and in fact it's all down to
00:10an area of low pressure which has replaced high pressure and it's influencing particularly
00:15the northern half of the UK through today. But the winds will ease through Friday and
00:20in fact during the weekend we'll see some quiet weather away from the west where the
00:24air will become more humid and we'll see more clouds and also some patchy rain, even some
00:29showers on Sunday towards the far south and in fact it's a wet start to the day across
00:34much of Scotland with some persistent rain across the far north, a strong wind coming
00:38in from the northwest, a cool start also and some showery bursts of rain. Drier skies just
00:43about across the eastern strip. A few showers and some sunshine for Northern Ireland, frequent
00:48showers across Northern England and those showers extend down towards northern and the
00:51middle part of Wales. Further south and east a much more comfortable night leading into
00:56a fresher start to today with a mix of cloud and sunshine. A bit breezy but the winds will
01:01ease as we head through Friday and into the weekend. So through Friday morning you can
01:06see where the strongest winds are. Outbreaks of rain become confined to the far north and
01:11northwest of Scotland. Elsewhere we'll see a scattering of showers so it's sunshine and
01:16showers during the afternoon. These showers across the middle and northern part of Wales,
01:21Northern England, central, eastern and southern parts of Scotland, a few coming in across
01:25Northern Ireland. Across the bulk of England and Wales then it's fine, again we'll see
01:30patchy cloud but also some sunshine but temperatures a lot lower here, coming in around 19 to 22
01:37degrees Celsius, 14, 15, 16 for Scotland and 17 or 18 across Northern Ireland. So a fairly
01:44pleasant evening to come away from central and northern areas of Scotland where again
01:48there'll be a keen wind and some showery bursts. However, through the night a muggy
01:52feel to things extending across Wales, the west country as this plume of clouds and some
01:58patchy rain arrives. It's a bit of a damp start to Saturday across these parts. Elsewhere
02:04a bit of a cool start across eastern Scotland with some clearer skies and you'll see some
02:07sunshine across the northern half of the UK away from the far north where we'll continue
02:12to see those showers. Always more clouds and some patchy rain and drizzle just extending
02:16across Wales, even the northwest of England and clipping the far south of Northern Ireland
02:21through Saturday. We hang on to some fine conditions further east with some sunshine
02:25and temperatures higher than today, 22 to 25 degrees Celsius, 16 to 18 further north
02:31with a few showers. And your outlook through Sunday, it looks like this, it's a fine day,
02:36a light breeze, the cloud coming and going, some sunshine but a few showers across the
02:39far south. Have a lovely day, I'll see you later.
