00:00Hello there, welcome to our latest weather forecast from the Met Office.
00:03Well today we will see some sunshine across the UK but unfortunately it's not
00:08going to last. We'll see a return to the cloudy skies as we go through the second
00:12half of the weekend. All the time we still have high pressure towards the
00:17south keeping things relatively settled here. Weather fronts continuing to move
00:20across the north but then a change as we head towards the middle part of the week
00:24we start to see this next area low pressure beginning to move in and that
00:28will bring more widely unsettled conditions as we approach the middle
00:32part of next week. But back to here and now for many parts of England, Wales,
00:36eastern Scotland we will see some sunshine this afternoon. A few showers
00:40across more western parts of Wales and England but the main bulk of the cloud
00:44and rain will be across Northern Ireland and Western Scotland. But even here I
00:48think the heaviest and most persistent rain will probably arrive after dark. For
00:53all of us temperatures around the seasonal average but I think factoring
00:57the sunshine across England and Wales it should feel a little bit less cold
01:00than it has been of late. So as we move into the evening the cloud and rain
01:05across the northwest will spread its way southeastwards. Best of the clearest
01:09skies during the evening will be across the far southeast so it's here where
01:12we'll see the best opportunities to see the meteor shower. But even here by the
01:17end of the night it is going to be cloudy so we start Sunday off on a
01:21relatively grey murky note. Also some outbreaks of rain in places too but a
01:26mild one. Temperatures for all of us generally in the high single figures
01:30potentially low double figures in a few spots. So Sunday really is going to be a
01:35rather grey day for most of us. The wettest weather will be across the west
01:40and the north and the rain across Western Scotland will actually turn
01:43increasingly heavy and persistent as the day goes on. Accompanied by a
01:46strengthening wind here so quite a wet and windy picture as we end Sunday here.
01:52Further south relatively quiet still some spots of rain across the Welsh
01:56Mountains maybe Dartmoor and Exmoor too but the further east you are it should be
02:00relatively dry and it's here where we may see some glimmers of sunshine but
02:04they will be rather limited. But for all of us with the winds coming in from the
02:08west or southwest a milder picture. Temperatures for all of us in double
02:12figures potentially into low teens in a few spots. Into the evening that rain
02:20will continue to persist across Western Scotland and actually right throughout
02:24Monday itself so we do have warnings in force across parts of Scotland. Further
02:28south a relatively quieter picture and with a little bit more breeze around
02:32that should hopefully mix up the cloud and allow some breaks to develop so
02:36hopefully a little bit more in the way of sunshine developing on Monday. But
02:40overall still a fairly grey picture but a mild one once again. Temperatures for
02:44all of us with the exceptions of the far north of Scotland in double figures. But
02:49if you want more information about the weather where you are over the next few
02:53days can always check out our app or our website. But for me for now take care and
02:57I'll see you again soon.
