00:00So Ofsted are launching a consultation on changes they're making to the inspection system.
00:06They will be launching a report card which will have a much broader range of areas that they're assessing a school on
00:15and they'll produce a report card which will give a much more granular and detailed picture of how a school is doing
00:22and that will shine a spotlight on areas that schools are doing really well on
00:27but also areas where they have room to improve and need to work on that
00:31because we have to drive these rising standards and improved outcomes for children right across England.
00:37So I think it's quite insulting to suggest that parents can't understand more information about their child's school.
00:43I think it's really important that a school not only gets a fair reflection of its efforts that it's putting in
00:49and that is done in a much more detailed way, but also that parents get that information about their child's school
00:55and together the information, along with the changes that we're bringing in that are announced today,
01:00we will really drive school improvement right across the system and drive those better outcomes for children
01:05because we know that far too many children are still being let down by the education system.
01:10I think getting rid of the one word judgement was really important.
01:13It was just one word that summed up an entire school and its life and its journey.
01:18Now having much more broad and detailed information will give schools a much better picture of how they can improve
01:26and work with other schools and the Department for Education to drive that school improvement
01:32and ultimately that will be better for children and better for teachers too.
01:36Every teacher wants to give the best education to the children in their schools.
