00:09to be here man how you doing today good man good yeah this man you know one of
00:12the cool things about coming here is you see so many former Eagles alumni you can
00:16go back to Jaws in the 70s go to yourself in the 90s and early 2000s so
00:21forth so but they're back again okay yes and I know you're broadcasting for WIP
00:26Sports Radio in Philly so hey let's talk about your week here so as a former
00:31player what is the Super Bowl week like for you for the media well for the media
00:36you know we get the chance to to talk to different players different outlets
00:39different analysts from other places and just get a feel for how they feel about
00:44the game but for me personally you know being a former player and not being a
00:48member of the media get a chance to come out here and fellowship with guys you
00:51haven't seen in years that's right and that's the great part about it man
00:54because as you know a lot of in an old NFL players come back alumni come back
00:57and they come down for this game and you get a chance to see guys that you've
01:01either played with or played against and that's the that to me that's the best
01:05part about it all right so Andy Reid is a guy that you're very familiar with
01:08okay so what what kind of stories can you talk to us about anyway give us a
01:14real quick one real quick one well it was just one time I remember when Andy
01:18first got there we didn't really know what kind of plan he was implemented we
01:22did three days of training camp where we were just you know we were just
01:26getting after it for three days and and I remember being in a huddle and I was
01:29like I don't think coach knows what he's doing and he heard me and he told me to
01:34quit complaining because we're getting better and that's one story that I
01:37remember because at that point I didn't understand that coach was trying to weed
01:41him out weed us out right to figure out who was gonna be the guys he could
01:44depend on right on Sunday you know and so we that's why we had those hard
01:47training camps and ever since then that day I had a tremendous amount of respect
01:52for coach did you know Hugh that he was this great of a head coach maybe the
01:55best in NFL history no I did you know what I think the coach that we see now
01:59there's a coach that's learned from his mistakes okay you know he got five
02:03Philadelphia sure he probably had a couple blind spots there but he grew
02:08from that and he became a better coach for that and now the Kansas City Chiefs
02:12are you know one of the teams that are being considered as a dynasty right and
02:16that's because of him man the fact that you know I was going back and I was
02:20looking at some of the old press clippings that are old press footage of
02:22when he traded up to get Patrick Holmes even though he had a quarterback and
02:26people thought that he was crazy crazy like a fox yeah he went out there and
02:31now you got teams that are looking at that trade and him trading up for him
02:35saying damn I wish we would have saw what Andy Reid saw that's right that's
02:38right so okay let's fast-forward to the game on Sunday what do your Eagles have
02:42to do to beat the Chiefs hmm what we have to do to beat the Chiefs I think
02:45that you have to figure out a way to slow down Patrick Holmes he's a
02:47phenomenal quarterback man and every game that I've seen every Super Bowl
02:52that I've seen he play in there's always one or two plays where he makes himself
02:56at the worst time you could have being made if you're the defense that he's
03:01playing against and those two plays that I think about thinking when they play
03:04the Eagles when he pulled the ball down he ran for like 20 yards yeah and he did
03:07it last year against the San Francisco 49ers late in the game so he's a very
03:12patient quarterback you have to stay within your coverages and you have to
03:17stay sound on your assignments and everything because if you don't it's
03:20gonna be that one time that if you have a breakdown in your assignment that he
03:24can take advantage of that did you make your pick on the on the air yet or not
03:28yet but I'm definitely picking the birds go birds oh yeah definitely going birds
03:31I don't think it's gonna be as easy game as a lot of Eagles fans anticipated to
03:36be I think it's gonna be a lot closer than that but I do think the birds come
03:40out on top all right you heard from a former Eagle himself the Eagles are
03:43gonna get it done on Sunday Super Bowl 59 here in New Orleans for Hugh Douglas
