00:00Wednesday evening, Salton James' Park experienced one of the best nights in its modern history,
00:06as Newcastle booked their place in the final of the Carabao Cup for the second time in just three seasons.
00:13Reporter Jordan Cronin told us more.
00:17Well, well, well, Newcastle United are going to Wembley once again for the second time in three years,
00:24have booked their place in the Carabao Cup. Final, 4-0 aggregate win over Arsenal, 2-0 in each leg,
00:34and you've got to say Newcastle really walked through those two games and made easy work.
00:41I say made easy work, that's to take nothing away from Newcastle, because over the two legs they were absolutely outstanding.
00:49And tonight, everything went in their favour. When St James' Park is rocking like it can, like it was tonight,
00:58a PSG-like atmosphere, like we had in the Champions League a couple of years ago, or last season even, it was on those levels.
01:06And when you've got Newcastle, it's a cliche, but when you've got Newcastle United, they're very, very hard to beat.
01:12From the off, from the off in the stadium, you felt like it was only going to go one way tonight.
01:17A lot of nerves coming into the game by a lot of supporters, but I suspect they were quickly put to bed.
01:24Even within the first couple of minutes, Newcastle thought they'd took the lead.
01:29Alexander Nizac, goal ruled offside, and then Newcastle didn't have to wait long at all because Jacob Murphy,
01:36I think around the 19th minute, made it 1-0 on the ninth, 3-0 on aggregate.
01:41And Anthony Gordon, after half-time, put the game to bed.
01:47It's so comfortable, but the players' efforts, what they put into these two games, and tonight as well, just outstanding.
01:56I don't think I can use enough words to really praise the efforts, because Arsenal are a good side, very, very good side.
02:03Good title challengers this season, but Newcastle seem to have their number at the moment.
02:11Especially here anyway. Arsenal don't win many matches here.
02:16Newcastle seem to be a bogey side for Arsenal, but that's because Newcastle can be a horrible team to play against.
02:23I mean that in the nicest way possible, but they made it horrible for Arsenal here tonight.
02:27It was like a bear pit. They had no chance of getting a result.
02:32In my opinion, in those opening couple of minutes, it set the tone that there was only going to be one winner.
02:39What else can I say? I think everyone across the park was outstanding.
02:44Eddie Howe changed his formation, I think it was a surprise for people.
02:49With Joe Linton out injured, he brought in Sven Bottner, went with the back five.
02:53Kieran Trippier came in for Team Liverpool.
02:55Right back, what a work to treat.
02:57An Eddie Howe tactical masterclass.
