00:00This is so fun. This is so fun to me. Super fun. No, this is fun. Is it? Yes, I don't normally get
00:05to do this. Do what? Um, you know, be the naysayer. It's crazy because normally like your team pom-poms
00:13and I'm the hater. You what? You called me the dismissor. The dismissor. A few weeks ago. Yeah.
00:18And now here you are. Okay, but how y'all want it? Jimmy, Jimmy. How y'all want it? I want it real.
00:26Like, thank you. Then that's what it is. You promised me when we started this deal three
00:30and a half years ago. Authenticity. You're going to keep it real. Like, like, like dude, 408,
00:35check yourself. Want to know what the text says? Willard, shut up. Oh God. We have Jimmy now. So
00:40wake up. Oh, I'm sorry. Hang on. Let me go get my pom-poms. Talk for a minute. I'm getting my
00:50pom-poms out. J J J I M M M M M Y J I M M M Y B B B U T T T L E R G I M M M Y Jimmy Butler.
01:06Wait, where's my warrior? Where's your oversized warrior fan finger? I have a hoodie too. Yeah.
01:15Hang on. Let me wrap myself in this warrior poster that's on the wall. Please don't touch it. It's
01:20going to fall down and director of sports will never. Grandy, as you know, I know you're eating.
01:25He will never be able to be a fix it. Like, I, I, I mean, are you going to play the,
01:31uh, the Brian Baumgartner will, or do you have to be a Homer? You have to be such a home three and
01:37a half years for me to come out and be like, I really don't feel good about this. And now we're
01:41like, well, dude, we've got them. So shut up and like it. Why are you such a hater? Mark? No,
01:47no. Do you have to be such a home? I guess out here. Sounding like a hater. Sorry. Sorry. Keep
01:55it real. Like this is how I feel. I think that there was a better approach out there for the
02:01warriors than Jimmy Butler. And quite frankly, I'm a little surprised how many people suddenly
02:09are in on Jimmy Butler who for the last six months did not sound like they were in on Jimmy
02:13Butler. I was not in on Jimmy Butler. I don't believe there was a better deal out there.
02:18And pending any additional information about what cam could have fetched. It doesn't feel like cam
02:24or Nicola were out there for me, you and Grandy last week, I was out, you were in,
02:30you guys got me all revved up over the idea of doing something is better than doing nothing.
02:35Agreed. Well, this is something, this is a big old something. And if you tell me,
02:41if Mike Dunleavy were to sit down and be like, actually cam Johnson, they wanted five first
02:45round picks. We knocked on every door and this was literally the only thing available. I would
02:49have said, yeah, then you should do it. Then you should do it. I'm not sitting here telling you
02:53that it's Defcon five disaster. They're the stupidest organization ever. But this is not
03:01what I would have hoped as far as the warriors making a move that actually makes them a better
03:07basketball team. I do think everybody should ask themselves that. And I, I, in fact, speaking of
03:13Grandy, like, you know, the three of us, we've gone round and round about this for about three
03:19weeks at least. And what have I said? Don't just make a deal. Like a lot of you are, we're just
03:25bored. Like a lot of the deals that I heard people wanted. I'm like, you just want something
03:33to happen. And Grandy, I accused you of that a time or two, like you're just bored and you want
03:39something. That's not, in my opinion, a great reason. Can I ask you a question? Will it? Sure.
03:45Have you watched Jimmy Butler play basketball? Oh boy. This is amazing. You gotta be kidding
03:50me, dog. You have sat here with us for the last six months and I've never heard you once
03:55tell me the warriors have got to go get Jimmy Butler and he was the most gettable guy this
04:00entire time. We all knew it. I don't think he, he was not like my ideal acquisition. There were a
04:05few others that I wanted more, but he's going to make this team a whole hell of a lot better.
04:10Your opinion. Great habit. I have mine. I don't see it. And he's 35. I've watched Jimmy Butler
04:18for 15 years. I, Jimmy Butler is a phenomenal basketball player. I happen to not be here for
04:25all of you who've now suddenly decided that Andrew Wiggins sucks at hoops. Don't think so.
04:30I don't think he sucks. I think Andrew is exactly what we thought he was. But at minimum,
04:35the way you could, the only way you can assess this is to tell me the gap between Andrew and
04:40Jimmy. And even if I agree with you that there is a gap, it is partially swallowed up in my opinion,
04:46by a few other things, age, depth, first round draft pick the situation, like that's all I'm
04:55saying. And, and so even if you got a little bit better at your small forward position, you also
05:02are taking a physical risk with injury. You have also given up a first round draft pick. You have
05:09also robbed some of your depth out there with veterans who can come in on certain nights and
05:14do some things. I think I'm allowed to be skeptical with that. You're allowed to do
05:18whatever you want. I'm allowed to feel like somebody in their twenties would have been a
05:21better move. I get that. And I, for me, that part of it is completely speculative because I do
05:28believe that they were thinking about going out and getting somebody in their twenties, Zion,
05:33Brandon Ingram, Cam Johnson, all in their twenties. And all I believe were doors upon which
05:38they knocked in the deal wasn't to their liking. And I look at this move, the one thing that I do
05:44like the most about it and put aside the money they paid him, at least this takes away some of
05:49the question of will Jimmy leave? Will he opt out? Will Jimmy be disgruntled? I think that Jimmy
05:56being paid what he's going to be paid. I think that they've all kind of decided, look, this is,
06:02this is what we're going with. Steph, Draymond and Jimmy, whatever else we can do to surround
06:07these three, this is what we're going to go with. So for me, I like the fact that they've taken a
06:12lot of the guesswork out of it. Now we don't have to go into the off season and think about
06:17big free agents. Are they going to land a big free agent? They can't. You're right. But I don't like,
06:22I don't know if that's the greatest thing ever. Like you're right. They took the guesswork out
06:26of it. It'll either be the best thing because Jimmy's awesome or it'll be the worst thing
06:30because Jimmy's no good. Yeah. Like they're also, they also took the flexibility out of it. I don't
06:35know that that's a wonderful thing. All right. People want to weigh in eight at eight, nine,
06:38five, seven, nine, five 70. Uh, let's go to Jay in South city. Our good friend, Jay. Hello,
06:44my friend. What's going on? My man. How are you guys doing? We are fantastic. How are you?
06:52I'm good. I'm good. I'm just going to butter you up real quick, Mark. Let's stand back. I'm
06:57going after Mark today. Uh, I'm going to, uh, splash tomorrow. What's a non-negotiable. What
07:03do I have to have tomorrow? What do you have to have? I can't claim to have tried everything,
07:10but I would smash the smash burger. Pretty good. Yeah. It was pretty strong. All right.
07:16All right. That's going down like you right now. Um, I have a pit in my stomach and not in my
07:21stomach for, for losing Andrew Wiggins, but I just feel like at some point that other shoe was going
07:27to drop. And I think he was going to kind of turn into that guy that just kind of floats.
07:32And I don't think you get that with Jimmy and I, and I'm not arguing with all the things that
07:36you're, you're saying that the risks with Jimmy, but Jimmy is a dog. I mean, I think, you know,
07:43if you look at that Laker game last night, I think Jimmy kind of calms that game.
07:47I think he kind of gets into a situation where he's like, hold my beer. Let me take care of this.
07:53So we're late in games that you see pods and buddy. And a lot of these guys, they're scared to
07:57shoot. So I really do think Jimmy, um, he's going to bring some value and he's a dog. I mean,
08:05and that's what this team needs. I mean, if you put him in Draymond in a room,
08:08I'm putting good money that Jimmy walks out of that room.
08:14Yeah, that's a funny one. I mean, Jay, look, I get it. And, and, and, and Jimmy is a wonderful
08:20basketball player, but I also, sometimes I wonder what do we mean when we, cause I hear this a lot.
08:26Jimmy's a dog. Let's let everybody define that for me. What does that mean?
08:30That means he will compete for every last possession, every last scrap to the absolute
08:37death. That means he's a fighter. He's a guy who won't shy away from contact. And he's a guy who
08:43you can give the ball to in the final minute and say, go get me a bucket and make or miss.
08:48He going to try. Sounds like somebody I can trust who I know is absolutely going to give
08:52his all at all moments. Is that what you're saying on the court? Yes. Okay. And we can do
08:57that this year. Well, I mean, if we want to like peel this all the way back for availability and
09:02reliability, we can do that. And you know, the guy he's replacing missed a half a season
09:08because he had, you know, things that were happening off the court.
09:12Yeah. That's, that's, that's a little bit, my opinion, that's a little bit of an unfair
09:16comparison. It is a little bit unfair, but I also think it's unfair to look at Jimmy and say,
09:21just because he in the heat, we're no longer seeing eye to eye that now he's not a dog.
09:25Like here's what, and Jay, thank you. We were, we're up against it. Um, appreciate you calling
09:30it. And I tried to lay out the best I could listen. Um, is that fair? Is it disingenuous? I
09:36mean, look, he did it. He did it right. So like it's on the resume and we're completely allowed
09:43to have our feelings about it. And I don't think that Jimmy behaved like a good teammate this year.
09:49And I've listened to countless NBA players say that out loud in the microphones over the last
09:55two months, hell Shaq went to town on him, but now he's like, that's all I'm saying. What does
10:01that mean to you? Jimmy's a dog. Well, yeah, he's tough. It's great player. He's got some
10:08things on the resume. I'm, I'm sorry to tell you that these other things are on the resume too.
10:13Sure. There's a lot of things on a lot of people's resume. Draymond green's a dog,
10:17but his resume is four pages worth of things that he's done that have prevented him from
10:22playing basketball. How long has it been since Jimmy Butler has played 70 games in an NBA season
10:27on 2017 was the last time. Good Lord. That's on the resume. Just want to let everybody know.
