00:02there is another thing that the authorities are monitoring right now,

00:05during the election.

00:07This is a different type of fraud,

00:10including the well-known scam

00:13where a candidate was promised a sure win in exchange for a big prize.

00:24The Commission on Elections of Comelec is taking care

00:27of the candidates in different types of fraud during the election.

00:31Comelec made a statement after the people of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, or CIDG,

00:37arrested the three men who promised a sure win in the upcoming election.

00:42According to Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudianco,

00:45those who promised such a thing are just fools because they cannot manipulate the result of the election.

00:51We are announcing Article 293,

00:55Robbery with Threat Intimidation or Robbery Extortion of the Republic of the Philippines.

01:01According to CIDG Acting Director of Police Brigadier General Nicolás Torre III,

01:06the Commission on Elections of Comelec is arresting the suspects.

01:10Their modus is to allocate a candidate who will win in the May 2025 elections

01:15in exchange for 90 million pesos.

01:17They promised their target victim a sure win because they can access the automated result.

01:23Aside from this, they are also IT specialists.

02:28According to Commander Commissioner Emy Ferolino,

02:31it is better for the candidates in the campaign to use the money to pay for the robbery in Nagalog.

02:38Comelec denied that they are connected to the agency.

03:18The suspects are facing several cases, including robbery with intimidation or violence,

03:24robbery extortion,

03:26they are also facing violations of the revised penal code

03:29in relation with Cyber Crime Prevention Act of 2012

03:32and Unibus Election Code of the Philippines

03:35Authorities have also called on other victims of the group

03:38to come forward to file their cases.
