00:20When the script was ready, Tendesh gave me a reference about this guy who was dancing like this

00:28in some festival thing. So he just gave me that as a reference. I had it in my mind but I am not

00:37very good in imitating or reciprocating the same thing. So I said I will try it in my way, my style.

00:44My style means it shouldn't have any style at all. So I said we will give it a try. I will come up

00:52with something. I don't know what it is. Don't ask me. Don't ask me to show you before the shoot

00:57nothing, before the shot of nothing. I will just do whatever comes into my mind or whatever is

01:04happening with my hands and legs and body, anything.

01:06When the shoot happened, it was in the night and all the crowd was there and I came there.

01:14Tendesh asked me do you want the help of a choreographer? I said no because if the

01:21choreographer comes then it will not look natural. It will be something very choreographed for the

01:26movie. We will give it a try from my side. If that doesn't work then we can take the help of

01:32the choreographer. When the shot was ready, people and the crowd are all set. This is a

01:38wonderful song. After 37 years, this melody is being recreated in the same style.

01:47So, it is a very risky situation because if anything goes wrong then that's it. It's such a

01:55nice song, a nostalgic song.

02:00If anything goes wrong, even the slightest of mistake then you are done for. So, the crowd is

02:07ready, the shot is ready. Tendesh called me, I came up and I did something or anything that

02:15came into my mind and everything that you see in the song which I have done is impromptu,

02:21that's very live and I was like I came and stood in the crowd and said to the crowd that this is

02:31not the way I dance. Please forgive me and then I did something. There were no retakes because

02:37even if I made a mistake, they don't know whether it is a mistake or not. Only mistakes, only

02:43retakes that we had to take was because of the technical errors that happened with the

02:48focus of the crowd, something like that. Otherwise, my steps were all impromptu, single takes,

02:54perfect without any mistakes. Everyone who loves music and dance, they can do this like the way

03:01they want to do it. So, even that's the catch thing.

03:06Do you think this is your career's most defining performances, Kunja Koli?

03:10Till now, yes. But I want to make it a habit and go on further entertaining and surprising

03:16people more and more and this is just a kind of fire, that catalyst that has happened in my

03:24life and I am just floating on it, vibing on it. I am super thrilled, super happy, super relieved.

03:34Right. I hope in the success party, you do this dance. I hope you have a success party. I don't

03:40know if you are having one but if you do because it's in India.

03:43I will definitely have. It's a long-term, long-term cherished moment so I have to share it with my

03:48teammates and that's what makes it work. You have to share your happiness with your teammates
