00:00George, let's start off with some of the outfielders in fantasy and get your opinion as to whether or not you think that they can repeat, better, worse, etc.
00:08And some players changing places as well. Aaron Judge was the number one outfielder last year with over 1,200 fantasy points.
00:15Schwarber 1,000. The big surprise was Brent Rooker, who got the contract extension with the Athletics.
00:22What a great year for Brent Rooker last year. Marcelo Zuno with Atlanta, also a great year.
00:27He won two Oscars back in L.A. There's Juan Soto. You know him. We won't talk about him.
00:31Jaron Duran on Boston came into his own. Anthony Santander goes from Baltimore to Toronto.
00:37Ian Happ. And then the player who was taken probably at the top of this list, call me crazy, last year is now, was 10th last year.
00:45Corbin Carroll. It took him like five months, strange, to get going last year. So that's how it shook out last year.
00:54Yeah. This year we have a couple of interesting ones. Will Judge be as good without Juan Soto here?
00:59Kyle Tucker not going to be in Houston anymore. Now he's going to Chicago. How does that affect him?
01:04People forget, just because you're playing in Wrigley, that wind blows in more often than it does out.
01:08So that can affect what Kyle Tucker does there. That's a different kind of lineup here.
01:12You're in Alvarez. Can he stay healthy? Another guy who's always hurt. So that's going to scare me a little bit with Alvarez.
01:19I'm not really as worried about Carroll. I think Carroll's going to be okay.
01:21When his sophomore blues takes a little bit, I think he's going to be good. I'll take Carroll. Plus I need my bags.
01:26Tatis is another guy here that I, you know, is he going to reach that superstar status, Craig?
01:32I mean, it started off well, then he got suspended, and last year was okay. You know, so I kind of wonder there.
01:38I've already said Acuna. I doubt I'm going to have him. He's ranked, what, 10th on this list here.
01:45He won't be on my team, because I just don't think he's going to be that player this year.
01:48I think he'll be great again, but I think it's more of a next year thing, not a this year thing.
01:51How about the two last year's rookies that were fantastic? Churio and Merrill.
01:56You know, are they going to do it again? Are they going to have the sophomore blues that we just saw Corbin Carroll have?
02:01Because you know teams have been looking all offseason to find the holes in their swings.
02:04And you know, baseball, what do they say? Baseball's a game of adjustments. Can they make the adjustments here?
02:09That being said, I said it earlier. Most leagues, you're drafting at least four outfielders, or starting four, I should say.
02:14A lot of leagues, it's five outfielders come up the board fast, hard, heavy here, and I will invest in them hard.
02:21That's why my first round is almost always an outfielder. I mean, I'm going to go BPA here, but I really want to take an outfielder.
02:28Probably two of my first four picks.
02:30Yeah, I mean, usually these leagues, you have to have five outfielders play in Roto League, so it does make sense.
02:35And George mentioned a lot of names, by the way, that came up at some point this season.
02:39Another hot name last year, Wyatt Langford, also on the Texas Rangers, too.
02:43So keep an eye on a lot of these young players going from year one to year two.
02:46Chorio is a big buy-in, I think, for a lot of people, and maybe the reason why Milwaukee's done nothing this offseason.
02:51All right, here's the scoring for the next tier of outfielders from last year.
02:55To me, there's one name we must circle here. I'll get to it in a minute.
02:59Nimmo, you see at 858. O'Neal Cruz, 856. Adonis Garcia, 847. Chism, who played center for Miami and then moved over to the infield.
03:08But really, this name that I want to circle is right there at 15. That's Brenton Doyle.
03:12What a season this guy had last year. I mean, people think he's the best defensive centerfielder in baseball as well, and plays at altitude.
03:20And let's not forget, George, it's always good to have Rockies on your fantasy roster.
03:24Then you have Brian Reynolds, Couser, Julio Rodriguez. Why this guy starts slow every year, I can't figure it out.
03:30Maybe you could tell me. Taylor Ward, Seya Suzuki. Those close out the top 20.
03:36Yeah, what was the old saying? When in doubt, draft a Rocky. Right, they sort of can't go wrong.
03:41And I like Brenton Doyle. I know I had him in one league at the maybe the last half of last season. He was fantastic.
03:46Oh, it's just points every day. So yeah, I'm a Doyle guy as well there.
03:51As for Julio Rodriguez, I have no answer for you. I don't know. All right, but he's the guy here.
03:56Well, let somebody else draft him and trade for him in what, June?
03:59You know, you have to eat it for a couple weeks before he takes off for the second half. He does the same thing every season.
04:04The ballpark is rough. It's a pitcher's ballpark, not a hitter's ballpark.
04:07But yeah, Rodriguez is another guy. He's a huge name. Everybody knows the name.
04:13He's going to go earlier than he probably should probably go in top three rounds.
04:16And I'm not doing that. I'm not doing that for a guy who I know or I expect is going to be unproductive.
04:20We're not as productive as he should be the first couple of seasons here.
04:23So I'm going to have problems with it. Taylor Ward, Suzuki, not guys I love here.
04:29Couser is a guy you'd like to see the Orioles not platoon him, but I do worry about it, about him doing that with him.
04:36Because I think, once again, someone on the Orioles is going to have a breakout.
04:40Maybe more than one of these young players that we keep talking about.
04:43You know, and I'm hoping it's going to be Couser, this guy.
04:45But like I said, the Orioles have so many good young players that they go through a slow start.
04:49They start platooning guys. They start giving someone else a chance there.
04:52So it's going to be hard to trust the Orioles.
