00:00My name is Layal Jabbour, I've been in Dubai for around 10 years and I've moved
00:29five houses living in different parts of the city. Moving, especially with kids, has been tough
00:36so we decided around two years ago to invest in our family home. We were looking at properties
00:43that are very spacious and that are very conveniently located and this is how we decided
00:49to purchase this specific property. We've actually received very attractive offers,
00:57specifically in the last year, that are very high but we decided to stay in this community
01:05because we love it here and we're very happy to be here. What I love is that it's very conveniently
01:11located, a few minutes away from Sheikh Zayed and there's everything in here. It's a few minutes
01:18also away from very highly rated schools, hospitals and there are also different parks
01:26where I can take the kids into different parks and meet different residents in the community.
01:32In Jumeirah Park there are a lot of social groups so, for example, if I need any recommendation
01:39whatsoever I'll just write to on WhatsApp or on Facebook and I'll get very trusted recommendations.
01:57So hi, my name is Melissa and I'm from the UK originally. My husband's from Pakistan and we
02:10bought this house 2013, so just over 10 years ago. So we've been living in Jumeirah Park for about 10 years.
02:16Oh yeah, it's changed a lot. So when I first got here I actually couldn't even find my way home
02:23so it would take me like every time I tried to get home I'd probably get a little bit lost
02:27and, you know, there wasn't much here. So you had the villas but nowhere near as many villas as we
02:32have now and you would have, you know, some open grass areas out the back but they weren't proper
02:38parks. So it was really kind of basic, we didn't have loads of amenities, we always had a big
02:45pavilion over there but you need to get in the car. Fast forward to now and you've got everything,
02:50you've got amazing parks, you've got basketball, you've got football, you've got tennis, you've got
02:54table tennis, you've got literally two minutes walk here and we can go to two different gyms,
02:59we can get one of the nicest coffees in Dubai, then you've got supermarkets, you've got flower
03:04shops, you've got salons, everything's within, you know, walking distance. So it's changed a lot, yeah.
03:09So we paid three and a half, almost three and a half for this house. We are told now by various
03:17agents, we get a lot of calls so certainly the properties are in demand, we get a lot of agents
03:21calling and asking if they can put our house on the market. We're told seven million, I don't know
03:25if that's real, I don't know if that's really somebody would come and actually show you the
03:29money but I mean we never expected to even reach five ever. Six would have been like oh my goodness,
03:37so seven is something crazy to hear. But with all that being said, you know, with these plots
03:42and having lived here for 10 years and we've established our garden and we've done a lot of work,
03:47for me I wouldn't want to move, you know. I think for my husband when he hears these figures it's a
03:52little bit enticing but for me it's a bit more no. Yeah, so I mean again the community's grown,
03:57so we've got several, we've got a couple of Facebook groups, we've got several WhatsApp
04:01groups, we do like an organized walk around now for Halloween, we've got WhatsApp groups for
04:06mums and babies, we've got WhatsApp groups for like wellness and then we've just got a main
04:11Jumeirah Park group. So yeah, there's a lot more here, we've also got like ladies that do Pilates
04:17in the garden, ladies that do yoga in the gardens, I do meditation sometimes in my garden.
04:23So yeah, it's become much more of a community than it used to be. It's really big as well,
04:28so you find communities within districts, so we've got a separate WhatsApp group for district eight,
04:33you've got separate ones for each district, we've got separate parks in each district, so
04:37yeah, and something else that's changed lately is Nakheel never used to do, you know, loads of
04:42events or anything but they started to put on a lot more events, so we will have like,
04:46we had a big party there, I don't know when it was, recently, over Christmas there was a big
04:51one in the park here, next week there's one for Halloween over in district one and they put on,
04:56you know, really nice events, so there's lots of free stuff for the kids, there's a few paid
05:00things, there's food, there's drinks, so yeah, it's become, it's become a nice place to live,
05:05lots of fun.
05:21Hi, my name is Ram and this is my wife Ambika. Hi. We've been in Jumeirah Park since 2013,
05:28we were one of the first residents to move into district seven and we've been here for 10 years
05:33Yeah, when we came in, there were no street lights, you could hear crickets in the night,
05:38it was empty, you know, there were no trees, nothing, so we've actually seen the community
05:43grow from nothing to what it is now, so yeah, it's nice. We had the Spinneys in town centre
05:50meadows, so that was the closest, but otherwise it was Ibn Battuta and MOE, which was equidistant,
05:56so we could choose where to go to, but now, yeah, we have two carrefours, which is like
06:01five minutes away, not even five minutes, two minutes away, so it's much, much better now.
06:06One of the biggest advantages of Jumeirah Park is the connectivity and access,
06:11it's one of the villa communities, which is very close to Sheikh Zayed Road, on the back side,
06:17you have access to both Al Khail Road and Mohammed Bin Zayed Road too, and the other great thing is,
06:22unlike other communities, the lighting is much better, if you see here now, and the parking,
06:27there's ample parking, when we host a party, or when we have guests over, there's ample parking,
06:32which you seldom find in other communities, so that, those are the great aspects of living here.
06:38Definitely, after, I think, Warehouse Gym has opened, that has pulled in a lot of people,
06:44and you, and then there is, you know, the British School, the British International School,
06:51which is here, and you know, you have a couple of other schools around, and it takes me about,
06:56it took me about seven minutes to take my children to school, so that was a big, big, big, big advantage.
