00:00It's been a resounding defeat of the Conservative Party in Britain and a landslide win for Keir
00:09Starmer and his Labour Party. But the real hard work starts now. Of course, Keir Starmer
00:14deserves credit for turning Labour's image around. It was what was described as an ultra-left,
00:20far-left party at one point, and he was able to change that and bring it far more to the
00:25centre and emerge as a more steady alternative to the erratic rule of the Conservative Party,
00:30particularly over the last 5-7 years. But as I said, the real challenge starts now.
00:35Because Britain is in a royal mess. The economy has been struggling, though it's now shown
00:41some signs of recovery, but people have been struggling with the cost of living crisis
00:45to the point where people have been rationing how much heat to put on during the winter.
00:51So that's the first thing on Mr Starmer's agenda. The next big issue that he has to
00:55deal with is the collapsed healthcare structure in the UK. We've seen the NHS waiting times
01:02can sometimes be up to a year just to get an appointment with a doctor, even for serious
01:06illnesses. So how he's able to reduce those waiting times, how he's able to ensure that
01:12NHS hospitals get the kind of equipment that they need, like CT scan machines and MRI machines
01:17as he's promised, that is going to be a big test of his governance as well. And of course,
01:22there's the issue of immigration, and how he's able to revive relations with Europe
01:27to the extent that he's able to cut perhaps limited trade deals so that there is some
01:33economic revival, a housing boost, which could see a boom for the economy as well. All of
01:39these things will be Mr Starmer's big challenges. And the problem he faces is the burden of
01:45expectation. The people of Britain have given him an overwhelming mandate, but their patience
01:51is clearly wearing thin, and he has to deliver quickly in order to consolidate the gains
01:56that Labour has made.
