00:09Fat Hippo Group has applied to convert part of a Grade 2 listed building at 22-23 Boar
00:14Lane into a restaurant.
00:17The company is seeking listed building consent for alterations to the vacant ground floor
00:22and basement of the site near Leeds Station.
00:25Leeds City Council will consider a planning application for the building which is part
00:29of the city centre conservation area.
00:31A design report said that bringing a currently redundant site into use can only be seen
00:36as a positive.
00:37It added that planned changes to the building include a bar and serving area, new lighting
00:42and the installation of extractor ducting.
00:45The report by John Taylor Architects said the internal works would not harm any special
00:50architectural or historical features.
00:53The building would be in a prominent location for Fat Hippo which already has a branch in
00:57Headingley.
