00:06The charges stem from soliciting illegal campaign contributions from Turkish diplomats
00:11Allowing a skyscraper to open without a fire inspection as well as other crimes committed while borough president

00:19It's unlikely it would have ever been brought forward by Southern District prosecutors if there wasn't an overwhelming amount of evidence
00:25He also refuses to resign with the Trump administration recently filing a motion to throw the charges out
00:31New York State Governor Kathy Hochul has the power to remove the mayor from office
00:35But the process by which to do that has never been tested before with the governor recently telling reporters quote
00:41Overturning the will of the voters is a serious step that should not be taken lightly
00:45That said the alleged conduct at City Hall that has been reported over the past two weeks is troubling and cannot be ignored
00:52According to the city charter the governor has the power to remove the mayor
00:55However, Adams must be presented the charges by her and be given time to rebut them in a public forum after that Governor
01:02Hochul would make the final decision and public advocate Jumaane Williams would become the acting mayor of America's biggest city
