00:00Don Sweeney, his strength is adding at the deadline.
00:03His strength is trading a draft pick, because he sucks at drafting, for a roster player.
00:08And they have, you know, it seems a good, they're good with NHL personnel.
00:14Not so much with, you know, scouting junior hockey and college hockey, but they have a
00:19good evaluation at the NHL level for the trades they've made.
00:23Well now Sweeney's going to do the opposite thing.
00:25Now he's going to retool it and tear it down to a degree, or at least sell minorly and
00:30try to seek out prospects on other teams and pluck guys from this team here and identify
00:35which team he's going to get a better draft pick out of.
00:37And I don't know that that's his strength.
00:39So all right, fine.
00:40Let's say the Bruins realize they got to sell.
00:43Let's say they realize that they have to retool things, to use Cam Neely's words.
00:48Is Sweeney the guy to do that?
00:50And if it's not Sweeney, who's in charge, like who do you feel good about doing that
00:53for the Bruins?
00:54I mean, if you're in charge right now, and then you got Cam kind of, you would think
00:57kind of in lockstep with him, but also has more job security than Sweeney does.
01:02They bring in Chara for a role that I think we're still trying to figure out a little
01:05bit.
01:06Do you feel like that's looming over any of this in any way?
01:07I mean, I feel like Char's like six nights, but he's looming over everybody just at all
01:10times.
01:11Like he feels like a guy who would be looming.
01:12Yeah, he's looming.
01:13You know, to me it was, it was kind of odd timing that he kind of shows up.
01:19Like is, is that what he wants to do?
01:20Like, I don't even know what his thing is.
01:22Like, does he want to be a GM?
01:24Does he want to be a team president?
01:25Does he want to just be like in the hockey, like maybe longer term, but like, he's not,
01:29he's not pulling the strings on any moves at this deadline, I wouldn't think, or like
01:32influence anything behind the scenes.
01:34I wouldn't imagine he is, um, speaking of the trade deadlines, the last five years I
01:39was looking at their draft picks and it is, it's pretty amazing.
01:42So going back to 2020, they meaning like this is what they traded away.
01:46Right.
01:47So like what they didn't have that year.
01:48So they didn't have their first round or their fourth round.
01:51And then in 2021 they didn't have their second round pick.
01:54Okay.
01:55In 2022 they didn't have their first or their third and 23 they didn't have their first
01:59or their second or their fifth.
02:00And then last year they didn't have their second or their third.
02:03So like constantly trading at least two of their first four picks.
