00:00I quickly turned around to see a seal flying at me.
00:02Then they tried to grab my camera.
00:04Little did I know, this seal was going to bite me.
00:06When a seal grabs you like this underwater, there's really nothing you can do.
00:10You're at their mercy.
00:11Then she started scratching me with her razor-sharp claws.
00:14I can feel them piercing through my wetsuit.
00:17And to make sure I couldn't escape, she firmly grabbed my leg with her left foreflipper.
00:22She even had a smile on her face, knowing that there's nothing I can do.
00:25This was one of her signature moves, the tickle attack.
00:29She knows I'm ticklish and she uses that to her advantage.
00:32You can even hear me laughing underwater.
00:36Seals don't have the luxury of having a scratching post like cats do.
00:39So instead, they use a diver's legs.
00:42Seals will bite divers for two reasons.
00:45The first reason is that the seal was curious about the diver's gear.
00:48The second reason is that the seal was being aggressive and did not want the diver near them.
00:52I got really lucky here because she chose option one.
00:55She was curious about the texture of the wetsuit, so she grabbed my leg
00:58and gently pushed it into her mouth to give it a little bite.
01:01And of course that tickled me, so that's why you hear me laughing.
01:04But once we turned around, we realized we were being watched by another seal this whole time.
01:08The other seal was nestled in the kelp just awkwardly watching us.
01:11And I think that made the seal that tickled me shy
01:14because they stopped tickling me and went down to the bottom.
01:16Remember, it's illegal to touch or pet a seal.
01:19The encounter is always on the animal's terms.
01:21Thanks for watching my videos and I'll see you on the next one.
