BMitch and JP discuss Bengals defensive lineman Trey Hendrickson requesting a trade. They think he could be a nice fit in Washington for the right price.
Transcript
00:00a Trey Hendrickson. It led the NFL and Saks this past season. An absolute stud Cincinnati
00:06bangles edge rusher. Cincinnati has granted him permission to seek a trade. This dude
00:14is a look good and Bernie and go big, strong, tough. Six, four to 70 was a third round pick
00:21by the saints back in 2017 played his college ball at Florida Atlantic.
00:27You know the FAA mascot. I think I got this one. I don't know the mascot. I know it was,
00:32I believe they're the owls. Um, he's been a stud man since he got to Cincy. I know we,
00:39we did it. It's a little different though. Is that a, like a powerful mascot owl? I don't
00:45believe so. Okay. I don't know. Temple's also the elves. Yeah, I know. I don't, I can't
00:49think of big Trey Johnson and Leslie Shepard. Now owls are kind of like spooky. If I'm out
00:55in the field at night, I don't want to see an owl. Why not poke your eye out or whatever.
00:59Ooh, wow. I think you're going to see you a little bigger than him. He might not bother
01:02you for the snakes. You discount owls. Those snakes can bite you and kill you. I was not
01:13going to attack nobody. Owls eat snakes. They don't eat poison. The snakes. I promise you
01:18that. How do you know you're an owl expert? Oh, you weren't. No. All right. Then they
01:23probably go get the little snake. They can't do nothing. I think I'll watch enough discovery
01:26channel. They eat. I don't know. I just know they eat snakes. They eat the little bitty
01:32thing. They can go grab of all the dumb rabbit holes. We go down some Avenue, but I'm just
01:38telling you, I have a reason to be scared of snakes. Thanks for your state. Make you
01:41think of the stick and you go to kick it. Snakes are scarier than you get bit by that.
01:46Trey Hendrickson. Yeah, go ahead. Last two seasons. Hasn't missed a game. 17 and a half
01:52sacks in each of the last two seasons. I'm not a math guy, but I believe that's 35 sacks
01:58in the last two years. I mean, that is astonishing production. I also with miles Garrett, that's
02:09an entirely different situation.
02:11The team is publicly saying we're not trading them and we're going to get into what else
02:15might be happening in Cleveland. This is different. Cincinnati is poorly run. They have bad ownership
02:23Adam. Peter's kind of opened the door to this where he talked about, yeah, you know, what's
02:27online with the salary cap. Isn't necessarily reflective of what we look at. We look at
02:31the cash being spent. If you own an NFL team, Brian, what matters to you is how much money
02:38is actually going out the door this year.
02:40Totally. And if they got Higgins and chase and they're already paying borough, there's
02:45simply not cash to go out the door for Hendricks. Now you can argue if, if it should or not,
02:51but they have a tendency over decades to be cheap in Cincinnati. That's why Hendrickson's
02:56available. And the biggest difference, if you want to talk about Hendrickson and Garrett,
03:00Garrett's the better player, but Hendrickson's damn good. The biggest difference is Hendrickson's
03:06actually available. Yeah, that's it. Like that's a massive difference and we can get
03:13into what it costs. Right. I think, I think because of the situation Cincinnati's in the
03:19cost, isn't necessarily, you know, the immediate conversation for, and for football fans, like,
03:26ah, give him a one, give him a one. Might not cost you one.
03:28May not cause one because they, when they sign, I mean, when they put the tag on T Higgins,
03:33I basically said, they're about to have some problems still wants to get paid. And the
03:39tag on Higgins guarantees, you got to give him 26 million next Wednesday. He negotiated
03:43a new deal, which I don't think is about to happen right now.
