NFL Free Agency 2025 kicked off today and as expected, the Eagles lost a handful of pieces. Maybe even a few more than they expected on Day 1. Now the eyes turn once again to Howie Roseman, who already warned Eagles fans about losing some pieces that helped win the Super Bowl. Do they upgrade in free agency or the draft? Are there any trades on the radar? It has been a wild day in the NFL with tons of chaos. Today, RB discusses all of this and more!

00:00It has been a rough day to be an Eagles fan
00:03Not just because Twitter slash X was broke for half of the day
00:06But because some of our beloved Super Bowl champions are now headed off to their new destinations
00:12It was expected but a couple more go off the board then we expect on day one
00:17And now the question is what does Howie Roseman have up his sleeve? What will the Eagles do?
00:23Moving forward we will get into it all but welcome in to A to Z Philly
00:27I'm RB do me a favor like this show go down below and subscribe to the channel appreciate all my fellow Eagle fans
00:34Tapping in and this man right here had to have had a panic attack today. Shout out to chef D
00:40I know myself. I'm sitting here at my desk trying to scroll trying to refresh Twitter. It's not working Elon. What's going on?
00:47He said they got hit with a bunch of cyber security attacks, man
00:51This was a bad day to get hit with that and have your whole app crash
00:55But luckily it got back on and for most of the Eagle announcements signings departures, etc
01:01It was actually working during those intervals
01:04So let's go ahead and jump into it all and we started off with
01:09Milton Williams former third-round pick by the Eagles is
01:12Heading to the New England Patriots Patriots taking the biggest defender off the market
01:18This was the original tweet, okay, and it came out a little bit earlier that Milton Williams was actually signing with the Panthers I said
01:25okay, that's a pretty interesting signing right another former Eagle like Miles Sanders go into the
01:30Carolina Panthers
01:31But then we get an extended update here from Adam Schefter and Milton Williams reached an agreement on a four-year
01:38104 million dollar deal that includes 63 million dollars guaranteed Carolina worked on a deal
01:45But New England upped its price and would not be denied Wow
01:51That is a lot of money for Milton Williams a guy that had what five sacks this year
01:57He had two in the Super Bowl and don't get me wrong. He's a heck of a player. Was he 26 25 years old?
02:03Really good player and he started to really boost himself late here in his Eagles career and and was a big part in this team
02:09winning so congratulations to Milton Williams
02:12But he had to the Patriots who by the way have made like five or six huge splash signings today
02:17we'll get back to that later and
02:20Elliot shore parks puts this out here Milton Williams compared to Mauro
02:24Ojima in pass rush win rate Mauro Ojima actually stacked up better on
02:30Slightly less pass rush snap. So
02:3318.2% was the best on the Eagles d-line
02:35Mauro Ojima will have a huge tall task in stepping into that role now
02:39most likely we'll get into that later, but we just got a new update a few minutes ago before I hopped on here and
02:46Josh sweat has reached agreement with the Arizona Cardinals on a four-year deal worth
02:5276.4 million including 41 million dollars guaranteed deal negotiated by Drew Rosenhaus who he
02:59Hired during the Super Bowl week. It's like each one of these announcements is just like another gut punch, you know
03:04But to be fair Howie Roseman did warn us about this at the combine
03:08He said hey, you know
03:10Our team's not gonna look the same
03:11We have to trust in our young guys and we have to really figure out the best way to maximize the window
03:18over the next two three years
03:20That way we can find that right balance of the young guys that we haven't paid yet as well as the vets
03:25So I expected Josh sweat and Milton Williams to go even Josh sweat as great as he is right now
03:31He's reunited with John Gannon in Arizona. I'll be honest with you man. You know, this is a decent price tag for Josh sweat
03:39What is it 19 million? I still don't know if he's worth that much, you know
03:42And Howie Rosen probably came together and met with these agents said hey, here's my number go out test the market
03:49We're happy to have you back
03:50but you're probably gonna make more money especially with how the two of you played in the Super Bowl right two and a half sacks
03:55For sweaty and two for Milton Williams, and he knew that these guys were not coming back
04:01But we'll get to the silver lining a bit later on
04:03But yeah, he said, you know
04:05We're gonna have to find a way to build this team continue to cycle these guys in and out very happy for Josh sweat
04:10But even the Cardinal fans who probably don't watch him every week or haven't
04:13Don't know that he has some really high highs and some really low lows, right?
04:17Like Josh sweat started off the season really productive then he went cold for like six or seven weeks
04:23Then he played really well in the playoffs. So that's kind of the epitome of his entire Eagles career really happy for these two
04:30They got their money
04:31But you know
04:31They're going to teams that probably aren't going to win for some time
04:35Now the one that really struck me by surprise at least this early in free agency was this one?
04:40Adam Schefter reports that Eagles cornerback
04:43Isaiah Rogers has reached agreement on a two-year 15 million dollar deal with the Minnesota Vikings including 8 million guaranteed
04:50I'll be honest
04:52That's not a terrible price tag for Isaiah Rogers if I'm looking at the Eagles and I'm looking at Howie Roseman
04:58I thought he might come close to that with his number, but happy for Isaiah Rogers
05:03he filled in every week almost for Darius slay when he was out in the fourth quarter with a finger or a leg injury and
05:09Isaiah Rogers did a good job and I'm happy for him to get his opportunity. I did think he might come back
05:14you know, especially with the next thing we're about to announce here, but
05:19Isaiah Rogers deserves, you know a chance to compete
05:21I would have been happy enough to have him back here in Philly
05:25But apparently Howie has something else up his sleeve
05:28so Isaiah Rogers to Minnesota and the fourth and final one which came out shortly after was
05:34Darius slay heading to the Pittsburgh Steelers the Steelers who don't have their official quarterback yet
05:40Maybe by the time this is out they will but Darius slay goes to Pittsburgh who just traded for DK Metcalf
05:46Maybe they can make some noise probably wanted to stay close here to Philly, you know
05:51Stay close on the East Coast, but he was adamant about playing one more year and a little earlier in the day
05:57DJ Reed was signed to the Detroit Lions big contract for DJ Reed and we thought that that kind of took slay out of the
06:04Equation for Detroit and when Isaiah Rogers signed with Minnesota, I was starting to think okay
06:09Maybe he comes back to Philly for one more year
06:11But then they announced that he's going to the Steelers
06:13How he doesn't want to pay the premium for some of these guys for some of them
06:17I can't blame them. You know, some of these guys had really good seasons, you know, and that's the sucky part about winning, right?
06:23It's great
06:23We're very grateful for all of these guys and their contributions and the team winning the Super Bowl and how dominant they were
06:30But as the players always say, you know
06:32No year is same from one year to the next you're gonna have new faces new guys in the building and that's just something you
06:39Have to deal with when you win, you know, whether it's players coaches executives, it sucks. But unfortunately that is how it is
06:46Okay, let's turn it around and think about this moving forward the good part per ESP
06:51Here's that the Eagles probably just netted two third round comp picks so far with sweat and Williams getting big money contracts
06:58Essentially what the compensatory picks are are when you have net losses in free agency when your big free agents go elsewhere
07:05Usually you will get awarded. We don't know exactly yet. But if they can get two third round comp picks
07:10Hey, that would be huge for the Eagles. Here is an updated
07:13Look, they have a first a second a third a fourth and three fifth round picks
07:18We might even see how we try to trade some of those get more picks later on
07:22That's usually what he does and he has been a mastermind in the draft over the last several years
07:27So if you add two compensatory picks in the third round
07:30I mean this looks like a pretty good opportunity to upgrade in the draft and I believe he will do that and as we look
07:36Forward into the rest of the NFL. I mean, it's just been a wild day
07:40You know, Justin Fields goes to the New York Jets
07:44The Jets never get anywhere. The commander signed Javon Kinlaw gave him 15 a year. That's a huge overpay in my opinion
07:51Sam Darnold goes to the Seahawks who I thought were rebuilding then they pay Sam Darnold all that money
07:57man, never give up on your dream and
08:00Man, just a lot of signings here today in the NFL. There's just so much craziness going on guys moving around
08:06Once the app got back on its feet, you know
08:09We were able to see all this stuff, but it's definitely been a chaotic day in the NFL
08:13but let's talk about the Philadelphia Eagles and you know
08:17What is to come next for this team because when I think about the Eagles man, you know
08:22I expected Milton Williams and Josh sweat to leave but I didn't expect Isaiah Rogers and slay both to be gone this quick
08:30So what that tells me is that the Eagles have a very good grading and a good rating on Keely Ringo
08:36I think they're gonna trust in him a former fourth-round pick another Georgia Bulldog to come in there to nurture to grow
08:42We heard Christian Parker at the NFL combine meeting where he said, you know one guy
08:48That's really grown in the building this past year is Keely Ringo and I think they have a lot of trust in him
08:53We did see him for a little spurt back in 23. I don't know if he's so confidently the guy yet
08:59So I would expect Howie Roseman to do one of two things
09:02I think he's going to probably sign a veteran corner
09:06Trade for one. Maybe a guy gets cut later on in the summer, right? He did say
09:10NFL free agency doesn't determine everything right? We have to wait till the summer till guys get cut camp all that
09:17So we do have to be patient but also the draft, right?
09:20I mean you saw the success last year with drafting Quinion Cooper to Jean hard to draft two studs like that
09:26Maybe they go back into the draft and they get another young corner
09:29But I would expect them to go more of the veteran route there as it pertains to the defensive line
09:34I do think they will draft a couple more young pieces. I look at Jay Lux hunt
09:38I look at Nolan Smith these guys played really well even a guy like, you know
09:43Nolan Smith who had a really big increase in snaps after Brandon Graham got injured, you know
09:49Look at what he was able to do with that opportunity
09:51Look at what Jay Lux hunt a guy who we thought was going to be redshirted the entire year
09:56Did when he got more opportunity played pretty well in the playoffs had a sack and a half
10:01Big time play in the Super Bowl. So look I think they trust in these young guys
10:05Those are the guys you don't have to pay yet
10:07Of course with other guys getting signed around the league say like a JC horn, you know
10:12You're gonna have to start being cognizant of that for Quinion Mitchell and Cooper to Jean and really get out in front of it
10:18These next couple years, but I think they have a good balance
10:20They always draft well up front in the trenches
10:23The cornerback thing will be something to keep our eyes on and of course Dallas got her as well
10:28But overall, even though this is a huge blow
10:30I can't look at any of these contracts and say dang the Eagles should have matched that like that was just a no-brainer
10:37It sucks to see these guys go
10:39But again, that is what happens when you win other than that man
10:43Just trying to keep up on the latest signings
10:45Grady Jarrett was surprisingly cut by Atlanta today already signs with the Bears Bears have done some really good work building their offensive line
10:53Wow, here we go. Just a little while ago five minutes ago actually
10:57Texans trade Laramie Tunzel to the commanders for picks
11:01Five time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Laramie Tunzel to the Washington commanders
11:07Like I said commanders got Javon Kinlaw now they get Laramie Tunzel. Okay, they're trying to rebuild themselves up in the trenches
11:13Just a heavy day with a lot of news. We'll see what the Eagles do. They're being patient for now, but keep in mind, right?
11:19They already brought back their biggest target in Zach Vaughn. They extended Saquon Barkley. They're really trying to extend this window
11:26How do you feel about today? Are you disappointed? Are you frustrated?
11:29Do you think that the fixes are in-house or do they go outside?
