Burnley FC writer Matt Scrafton delivers his verdict on the 1-1 draw against West Brom on March 11.
Transcript
00:00Frustrating night here for Burnley at Turf Moor as they're held to a 1-1 draw against West Brom.
00:07Probably a fair result in the grand scheme of things, Burnley weren't at their best, West Brom played well,
00:12limited them to many chances but it's a result that could prove costly, I think that's their 15th draw of the season.
00:18If they do end up missed out on all sorts of promotion, it'll be those draws that are their undoing.
00:24Could have been worse though, John Swift put West Brom ahead with a great free kick,
00:29first goal Burnley conceded here in mid-December but Burnley hit back straight away.
00:35Liam Fleming, close range finish.
00:38And then since they were the better side for us the first half but couldn't get that second goal,
00:43second half was fairly uneventful, both sides did hit the woodwork but apart from that there was no real flow to the game.
00:52Gavin Ward, the referee, lost control of the game, broke up the play, really bitty, lots of soft fouls
01:00and then Burnley's frustration was told at the final whistle as it appeared that two red cards were given out,
01:06one to Scott Parker for his complaints and CJ Egan-Riley for what's been described as a kick on
01:13I think it was Lancashire, the West Brom player, but it seems to be more of a bit of a trip to me so that one could be debated.
01:20Maybe appealed but not the night Burnley were looking for, missing out on the opportunity to move into the top two
01:28ahead of Leeds playing tomorrow so it's 1-1 here at Tottenham Hotspur.
