00:00Eh, a little bit more Worcestershire here too, this is a hell of it.
00:07The Worcestershire right up, give it a little woo to the Worcestershire.
00:14Mange, mange, bon appétit, let's eat, it's time for Tanks Cooks.
00:21Mange, mange, bon appétit, let's eat, it's time for Tanks Cooks.
00:28It's time, it's time, it's time once again, we're back once again and we got an exciting
00:33recipe this time, we're doing Shepard's Pie, yes that's right, Shepard's Pie, a recipe
00:39sent to me by Ella Erickson, I had a couple other people send me a Shepard's Pie recipe
00:43but I think this recipe is probably the easiest, most efficient one, I got some mashed potatoes
00:49getting ready, boiling them up, but first I gotta get some uh, get the meat browned
00:54up.
00:55So let's get the olive oil in the pan, we're gonna heat up some onions, and then brown
01:05this meat.
01:06Pan of oil, we'll add some onions, fry these up, you wanna cook these up for about 5 minutes
01:18before adding our meat, make these onions nice and cooked, stirring them occasionally.
01:29So let's sauté these onions, sauté the onions, sauté the onions, sauté the onions, we're
01:39gonna sauté the onions, just for about 5 minutes, our mashed potatoes look like they're
01:45just about done.
01:47Alright, we got the aromatics going for the onions, so let's get this 1 pound of meat,
01:55you can use beef or you can use lamb, I'm using beef.
02:06We're gonna put this into our frying pan and brown it up, brown it up and break it up.
02:17So let's chop this into pieces, let's get the onion in here too.
02:35While this is browning we'll add our usual spices, our, put a little minced onion in
02:42here too, just for the hell of it.
02:47Get some garlic powder in here, of course some accents, don't want to forget about the
02:57accent, and a lemon pepper.
03:03We're gonna brown this meat up, break it up and brown it up.
03:20We're breaking it up and browning it up at the same time, churning and churning and browning.
03:26I'm betting there's onions in there too.
03:38Shepherd's pie!
03:39This meat is just about all browned.
03:44A little bit more time.
03:48There's onions in the meat, the onions in the meat, we're gonna be a beef.
03:53Alright.
03:55Alright, now we have to add some Worcestershire sauce into our meat.
04:12Worcestershire sauce.
04:16Worcestershire sauce, so let's get the Worcestershire sauce, about a tablespoon.
04:22Put the Worcestershire sauce a little bit more.
04:27Mix that in.
04:34Alright.
04:36Now we also have to put in some minced garlic, and it says to put in two garlic cloves, so
04:45I don't know how much that's equal to this minced garlic, so I'll assume it's about two
04:52tablespoons, so let's get the one tablespoon, two tablespoons, yeah, that should be enough
05:01garlic.
05:03And I'll put a little more in.
05:06There we go.
05:08You can put some of this dried minced garlic in here too.
05:12There it is.
05:14Yeah, garlic's good for you, so just put a little bit more in there.
05:17There we go.
05:21Mix this up really good.
05:27Alright, while this meat continues to brown up, we'll put together our mashed potato topping.
05:35Mashed potato topping, so let's get some butter, butter makes it better, and milk.
05:43That's my usual ingredients for mashed potatoes, but this is going to be a little different.
05:51We're going to put a little cheese and garlic in here now, to make it a little garlicky,
05:56so we'll get some of this grated cheese.
06:02Cheese.
06:03Cheese.
06:05And we'll throw in some garlic powder in here, because this is Shepard's pie, it's not our
06:13regular mashed potatoes.
06:15Make this mashed potatoes, get our handy dandy mixer.
06:21La la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la.
06:26That's the mashed potato topping for our Shepard's pie.
06:38La la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la.
06:43We've got this mixed in really well, we've got some tomato paste here, so that's our
06:49So that's our next step, we're going to put in,
06:53got this little can of tomato paste.
06:55It says to use
07:01two tablespoons of tomato paste,
07:03so that's one tablespoon,
07:06two tablespoons.
07:08Eh, might as well put a little bit more in.
07:12Use the whole can, what the fuck.
07:14Why not?
07:15All right, mix this up a little bit.
07:24Mix it up, really good, and I'm thinking,
07:30we can probably put a little bit more in here, too.
07:37There we go.
07:38Two tablespoons of flour, so let's,
07:50this is probably enough flour, don't need that much flour.
07:53There we go.
07:59So let's stir this up, la la la la.
08:03Ooh, look at this, it's coming out really nice.
08:04It's starting to look really good.
08:07Let's spoon it together, make sure it looks all smooth.
08:14We want to get rid of all the clumps from the tomato paste.
08:17I think we've pretty much successfully done that already.
08:21Got this nice little reddish hue that are going on here.
08:26So let's get the beef broth, one cup of beef broth.
08:38Pour it in, and mix this together.
08:47There we go.
08:50Now, we're also going to add in our mixed vegetables.
08:54We need some corn, we need some,
08:58it says corn, peas, and carrots.
09:01Well, this is mixed, this bag of mixed vegetables.
09:07Vegetables should do the trick.
09:10Just mix the vegetables, mix the vegetables.
09:17Heat it up and cook it up a little bit.
09:20Let's see.
09:31There we go.
09:33Pour this in here, and we'll heat it up
09:36for about five minutes, make sure it's nice and warm.
09:42You can floss this frozen concoction.
09:45No, I'll add a little bit more, what the hell.
09:48There we go.
09:57And we have to heat this up for about five minutes,
09:59and it will be ready to put together
10:00the shepherd's pie and put it in the oven.
10:02Now we should add a little more spice to this.
10:04Let's add a little rosemary to our concoction
10:06before it finishes getting to where we want it to be.
10:11So let's put some rosemary in here.
10:19There we go.
10:22A little bit of parsley as well.
10:31Get some thyme on our hands.
10:43Blend this all together a little bit better.
10:47La, la, la, la, blending the shepherd's pie.
10:50Shepherd's pie, blending together the shepherd's pie.
10:56Yes, indeed, there it is.
10:58All right.
11:01This looks like it's about ready to be pied together.
11:04So let's make the pie itself.
11:07We got our casserole dish right here,
11:09so let's bring our meat mixture in,
11:14pour it into the pan, into our casserole dish.
11:19La, la, la, la, spread it evenly.
11:24Evenly, evenly.
11:25Evenly, evenly.
11:30There we go.
11:44All right, that there.
11:46There it is.
11:47We want to spread this nice and evenly,
11:48so let's use our spoon here and spread it evenly.
11:53Now we got to take our mashed potatoes and put it on top.
11:59Put the potatoes on the top.
12:01Shepherd's pie, shepherd's pie, making shepherd's pie.
12:06Making shepherd's pie.
12:12There it is, nice little layer of mashed potatoes.
12:17Pour it all over.
12:22There we go.
12:32So this is an option, some recipes call for it,
12:35some don't.
12:36Putting a little cheese on top at the end,
12:40so I'm going to put a little cheese on top
12:43to like add the last bit of creblant
12:49to our shepherd's pie.
12:51So let's get some cheddar cheese here.
12:55Put it up on top.
12:59Spread it around, there we go.
13:02Cheese.
13:04There it is, so this is our shepherd's pie.
13:08We're going to put it in the oven for 30 minutes
13:10at 400 degrees and well, let's see how it comes out.
13:22Alexa, set a timer for 30 minutes.
13:24See how we're looking in here.
13:26Ooh, look at that steam up.
13:31Okay, I think we're done.
13:36All right, obviously the next step is to take it
13:39out of the oven.
13:41Let's take this shepherd's pie out of the oven.
13:46And we got to let it rest before we actually serve it,
13:49so let's take it out of the oven and let it rest.
13:57Let it settle down and congeal, look at that.
13:59Ooh, ooh, ooh, look at that.
14:02Yep, there we go, here's our shepherd's pie.
14:05Here's our shepherd's pie.
