00:28There's a new conspiracy theory making moves on TikTok, and it's ridiculous.

00:32Today we are talking about mermaid eating parties.

00:34Yes, there is a conspiracy theory that claims the most elite members of society

00:38are gathering right now where we aren't looking to have dinner parties where they eat mermaids.

00:42I mean, this is basically the plot to a horror movie.

00:44Anyway, this theory was initially popularized on TikTok this month.

00:47March of 2025, so it's fresh, much like they prefer their meat.

00:51I'm not sure what their favorite form of preparation is.

00:53The story this year started on March 4th, when TikToker jlee2.07 posted a video recounting

00:58this story about a company that catches mermaids.

01:01I guess this TikToker knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who

01:04was released from prison.

01:05There's this company run by this guy named Captain Burgess.

01:07I don't know, it sounds like a Wattpad fanfiction.

01:09Regardless, his friend Landon agrees to work for this charter because he needs work right

01:13out of prison, and before long, on a fishing expedition during a storm, they're netting

01:16humanoid fish, and Landon says that she sounds like she's begging for her life,

01:20and eventually the crew brings the mermaids to this warehouse filled with wealthy people

01:23who eat her.

01:24Pretty sure we're getting information from some dude who's just really mad his screenplay

01:27won't get adapted in Hollywood, but this little tale did get hundreds of thousands of views

01:30right away, leading jlee2.07 to upload a second video about the mermaid story.

01:33This one is where it really took off, with 1.7 million views in just five days.

01:37She gives more details about the mermaid, Landon Cott, and talks about Captain Burgess's

01:41high-tech mermaid tracking equipment.

01:42I mean, just these TikToks really get in detail.

01:44I'm pretty sure this dude has a whole universe of lore about this.

01:46He's probably been cooking this mermaid story since he was five years old.

01:49A third TikTok was posted on March 6th, to again hundreds of thousands of views,

01:52as anxious fanfiction lovers clamored to hear more,

01:54but what we're really here to look at is the spread.

01:56Because of this story, many other TikTokers started sharing their experiences,

02:00like Tiff's Ghost Talk, who claims she received an email from someone

02:02who allegedly attended an elite mermaid eating party.

02:05Again, this is just a 2025 horror movie plot.

02:07I wouldn't be surprised if this is a marketing campaign

02:09for some mermaid eating movie later this year.

02:11Many other TikTokers would catch wind of the story and add on to it.

02:14Quote, eating mermaids is all they have left, and quote, said ScareBear0,

02:17Hollywood is a place of degeneracy.

02:19This would spread and spread, and on other social media websites,

02:21people would add their own opinions.

02:23Some people on r slash conspiracy wondering if maybe mermaid is just code word for child.

02:26Whatever it may be, I'm pretty sure Captain Burgess is a Pirates of the Caribbean

02:30alternate universe OC that someone on TikTok pulled out from their childhood deviantart account.

02:34I don't think we're going to be eating the mermaid whopper at Burger King anytime soon.
