As money no longer stretches as far as it once did there is a new culture of grown up children living with their parents, even raising their own children in family homes, as they cannot afford the expenses. We ask the people of Glasgow what they think on this.

00:00I think it's extremely unhealthy for both generations.
00:04I think young people need to be able to move out, get their own lives,
00:07have their own space and be away from their parents.
00:10That's the natural way.
00:12Forcing generations to live together just for economic reasons
00:15is not going to be good for anybody.
00:17Both our kids have left the house,
00:20but yes, I wouldn't be averse to having them back again.
00:22The place is quiet without them, so yes, it would be good.
00:25But for a lot of people, there's no alternative.
00:27That's quite sad.
00:28Even if you've gone out and got an education and worked hard,
00:31you're still stuck at the bottom, really.
00:33And there's no clear indication of if it's going to get better or not.
00:36My son in particular, he put in three or four offers for houses
00:40before he actually got something
00:41and ended up paying probably over the odds for what he did get.
00:45So that's not fair. That is a shame for these kids.
00:48That older generation, they made it their lives
00:50was to move out as soon as possible
00:52and carve their own path of independence from their parents.
00:55By comparison, even though it's a lot more common for people
00:58in their 30s now living at home still.
