Tristan Lee, 53, looks so youthful that he's often mistaken for much younger and is still regularly asked for ID, even when picking up prescriptions.

A health and wellness coach from Chigwell, Essex, he credits his appearance to a healthy vegan diet, regular exercise, and a positive, playful mindset.

He avoids processed foods, prioritizes fruit and vegetables, and wears SPF and a sunhat for skin protection.

Despite never having had cosmetic surgery, Tristan occasionally uses Botox and facial treatments.

He believes his youthful looks come from his warm, optimistic energy, rather than any miracle product or treatment.

00:00My name is Tristan Lee and I'm almost 54 and I live in Tring in Hertfordshire and I'm going
00:05to share with you today how I still get ID'd for alcohol and lottery tickets.
00:11So I've always looked young for my age and in my 30s still got asked for ID for alcohol and things
00:18and I thought that would kind of wear off and then it carried on into my 40s
00:22and getting asked for ID, you know, buying red wine and that's something that has just kept
00:29carrying on. I thought it might stop in my 40s and if anything now that I'm in almost mid-50s
00:35it's still happening. I kind of thought it would have finished by now but if anything it's happening
00:40more often, I'm not sure why. So I've always been interested in health and well-being and because
00:46I was really spotty as a teenager, very oily skin, very acne-prone skin, I started looking
00:52after my skin, quite enjoyed doing that and then as I got older I really enjoyed exercise and
00:57interested in nutrition. So for me the goal has never been to look young, the goal has always been
01:03to be healthy and the sort of side effect has been that I look younger than my age. So it's never been
01:09my primary goal to, you know, chase the fountain of youth but it's been a happy coincidence that
01:18I look younger than my age. What seems to have happened over the past three or four years is
01:23that I'm getting asked for ID in kind of more interesting situations like when I collect some
01:28antibiotics from the doctor and people have asked me if I'm collecting it for my dad.
01:33You know, there are many more places than I thought that would be asking for ID than just alcohol.
01:38Obviously buying lottery tickets that happens probably twice a month but in the medical field
01:45that seems to be the new place where I'm asked for ID. So there's quite a few positives of looking
01:52young. I mean it's flattering that people think you're half the age you are and, you know, people
01:57are generally intrigued and impressed and curious and ask for advice and I remember when I went to
02:03have an injection recently at the doctor's surgery she was again looking at her notes and
02:09started asking for advice while drawing blood. So it's quite flattering, of course it's flattering
02:16and people are, well what do you do and oh look at this it's all very exciting. But the downsides
02:21are, you know, sometimes people don't take me seriously, sometimes people find it annoying or
02:27threatening or they don't like it and it feels a bit that they don't approve or they think I'm
02:34somehow cheating because I look after myself. So and when it comes to dating that can sometimes
02:39be a bit weird because people my age like well you look much younger than me and that feels a
02:44bit weird. People that are younger than me are like well you look young but you're not my age.
02:49Don't feel sorry for me. But now every time it happens I think this will be the last time and
02:54it's fine it's not my it's not my reason for living. But I'm like can I get to 60? That's the
03:00goal. Not for any other reason than to be asked for ID when you're 60. I think it'd be quite fun.
03:06People often ask you well what's the secret? I'm like well it's not really any major secret. I mean
03:13part of it is healthy lifestyle and I am ginger so that means I am quite sun sensitive. So I do
03:20wear a sun hat and a big wide brim sun hat and have done for years but mostly you know it's all
03:27the usual stuff. The truth my absolute number one tip which is not very glamorous but if you're into
03:33sort of looking like a Japanese woman which is great that's the look I'm going for. So ultimately
03:38a wide brim UV protected sun hat that's my number one go-to and I even wear it when I'm driving.
03:47Don't judge me I don't look cool. If you want me to look cool is you're not looking
03:51that's not me. So walking down the street in a sun hat and matching UV gloves
03:57even if it's only 12 degrees that's that's what I do.
