04:10out explaining the sitch. It just sold out so fast the site's backend couldn't keep up. They were told

06:27The thing that stuck with me the most is, um, this is not a coming out story, but I feel like
06:32when in my head, but when I was in the closet, I was like, Oh, once I come out, everything will be
06:36fine. And it wasn't that it was a little bit traumatic when I first came out. And the scar of
06:41that made me like be so scared of bringing anything new to my parents. So like introducing them to someone
06:46I'm dating or publicly dating. So that idea of the movie where we meet the character where he sort of
06:51isn't coming out, but he needs to take the next step, you know, be his full self. And what was so emotional
06:56to me was that he's not okay with them privately accepting him. They want him to accept him
07:00publicly, which in Indian culture is a big gay wedding. My parents are super liberal. Just don't
07:05bring up drinking or sex and no displays of physical affection. At least this boy is Indian.
07:13I texted my parents after I saw the movie for the first time and said, I cannot wait for you to see
07:20this movie because as much as it is about romantic love, it's like a traditional rom-com in so many ways
07:26between Karin and I's characters. It's also about family. There's so much heart and there's so much
07:32comedy in parents trying to understand what their kids are going through, particularly when it comes
07:38to something as specific as gay culture and gay love. And that the hilarity of them wanting to
07:47their son to be happy and wanting to accept their son, but also being incredibly uncomfortable
07:54and stepping outside of their comfort zone in order to show love to their son is is very moving
08:00and also really hilarious to me. What even have you familiar with each other's work before this?
08:05Uh, yes, I'm a gay man in America. I knew who Jonathan knew. I was a huge fan of Glee,
08:14looking mind hunter, all of it. I've seen it all. I watched the movie Seven Days, which he made with
08:21Roshan during like the, about like COVID shutdown moments. And I, I had this zoom with Roshan to talk
08:28about a nice Indian boy. And I was like, you know, that the movie Seven Days was so great. And the lead
08:35actor of that movie is so hot and has such a, such a, um, unique, unique, unique, uh, I caught the
08:51reference. Yes, unique comedic voice. And I was watching Seven Days and I was like this lead actor in
09:03your movie. I know that he's straight, but I feel like he really should be the lead in the nice Indian
09:09boy because he would bring so much humor. And Roshan was like, that's my boyfriend and he's
09:14already playing the role. Jonathan, we saw your bestie Leah Michelle's heartfelt birthday post to
