The Philadelphia Eagles have come to an agreement with WR Terrace Marshall Jr. on a one-year deal. Once a highly ranked prospect, his career has been disappointing to this point. Can he revive himself in Philly? In other news, the Eagles hosted another Top 30 visit with Nic Scourton, who also spoke with Brandon Graham. Could the Eagles potentially look to lock in on another young defensive end at the end of the first round? Today, RB discusses all of this and more!

00:00The Philadelphia Eagles never stop signing players and Howie Roseman apparently doesn't sleep as the Birds have inked a deal with a sneaky weapon.
00:09We'll talk about why and what it could mean for this roster, but the Birds also hosted another top 30 visit with an absolute stud of a prospect.
00:18Did they just tip their hand?
00:19We'll talk about all that and more, but welcome in to A to Z Philly.
00:24I'm R.B. Do me a favor. Like this video. Go down below and subscribe to the channel.
00:28Now, happy Friday. What a better way to kick it off than with the Eagles signing a new player.
00:34That's right. Late yesterday into the afternoon. Boom. Breaking news.
00:38Ian Rappaport says the Eagles have agreed to terms with wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr.
00:44Former Panthers Niners and Raiders wide receiver gets a one year deal.
00:49Who is Terrace Marshall? You may ask. And yes, Terrace, not Terrence.
00:53No N. It's Terrace Marshall, sir. And he is now Philadelphia Eagles.
00:57So maybe you're not an avid college football watch and you're like, who is this guy?
01:02Who was he? I mean, nobody cares about the Panthers, right?
01:04So where did this guy come from? Well, let's talk about it.
01:07So Terrace Marshall, as Ruben Frank writes here on NBC Sports Philly, was a second round pick of the Panthers.
01:15And it was back in 2021. So he was a second round pick.
01:18Really high graded prospect. But let's take it back even one step further.
01:22Let's go to high school. OK, he's number five. And who was he behind Jamar Chase, Jordan Adams, Amon Ross, St.
01:28Brown and Justin Shorter. And Terrace Marshall went to LSU.
01:33And you might recognize the guy above him, Jamar Chase, because Terrace Marshall was actually kind of buried behind Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson.
01:41And Marshall's kind of got, you know, bundled into this situation in Carolina where, you know, nobody's really looking at that team.
01:47Nobody really worries about them. And you may disagree with me on this, but I do think that situation plays a huge role in the beginning of a player's career.
01:56And, you know, going to these different teams, it kind of hurts sometimes.
02:00But anyway, Terrace Marshall is only 24 years old and he spent three years with the Panthers, last year with the Raiders, and was also briefly with the 49ers.
02:1067 catches in his career for 808 yards and one touchdown in 43 games with 17 starts.
02:16His best year was in 2022 when he caught 28 passes for 490 yards with his only pro touchdown.
02:23A 21 yarder from Baker Mayfield. How about that?
02:26Baker with the Panthers against the Bengals in Cincinnati.
02:31Marshall played with Joe Burrow at LSU and was the Tigers' third receiver during the 2019 championship season behind Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson.
02:39Here's what you have to keep in mind.
02:41They had a three-headed monster, maybe even more.
02:44Let's look at this guy's stats because, ladies and gentlemen, you know, I don't think it's fair to call him the third option or the third guy on the pecking order.
02:52Look at his stats.
02:542019, he had 13 touchdowns, 670 yards.
02:57He averaged 14.6 per catch.
03:00And then in 2020, he had 10 touchdowns on 730 yards.
03:06So, I mean, that's not terrible.
03:08You know, it's not amazing.
03:09He's not a top 10 draft pick, but that's still pretty good production for a guy that's also playing with two elite receivers.
03:17Keep that in mind.
03:18Two elite receivers.
03:19And here he comes to Philadelphia.
03:21And look, I'm not saying this guy's going to turn into some probable wide receiver.
03:25Matter of fact, you know, maybe with Harry Roseman's luck and how good he is at picking up players that are, you know, kind of just in the weeds and nobody's even looking at them.
03:34Maybe this guy becomes an all-pro wide receiver this year.
03:36Who knows?
03:36But anyway, he's also going to be behind two elite receivers here in Philadelphia in A.J. Brown and Devontae Smith.
03:43So, part of that is understanding your role and knowing how to fit in.
03:47Obviously, the Eagles have other competition on the roster.
03:49This is just another body you bring in, give them a chance to make the team.
03:53But, you know, you have Anais Smith, Johnny Wilson from last year.
03:56You have Jahan Dotson who caught a big pass in the Super Bowl.
03:59So, this is another body you bring in and you give him an opportunity to compete.
04:03But here's what I really like about him.
04:05If we go back to his draft profile, I mean, listen to the things that were said about this guy.
04:11Marshall was the top receiver prospect in the country back in 2018 despite suffering a dislocated ankle
04:19and fractured leg during his senior year at Parkway High School.
04:22And then if we read down a little bit more, it says he started the first seven games of the 2020 season
04:27leading the team, LSU, in receiving during that time.
04:30And before that, Marshall, Jamar Chase, and Justin Jefferson each caught more than 10 touchdowns for LSU back in 2019.
04:39And if we read down a little bit more, it says Marshall has the ingredients to become a solid starter in the league
04:46but has some questions to answer.
04:48So, again, you know, I mean, in college, he's playing with two of the best receivers
04:53and he's still trying to, you know, slide in there, get his catches and all that.
04:56But it's not always easy.
04:57You know, it's not always the easiest thing.
04:59It says Marshall seemed a bit disinterested at times in 2020
05:03and wasn't always committed to finishing routes or running them with consistent intensity.
05:08There are traits and talent at his disposal.
05:11But the difference between becoming a wide receiver two and three or four
05:14could be determined by how hard he is willing to work at his craft.
05:18So, I mean, he's got the traits, he has the skill sets, but the question is, you know,
05:23can he put it all together and can he get to that next level?
05:27And obviously, being in the organizations that he was in,
05:30it doesn't seem like they really helped propel him.
05:32Right now, he's got to put in the work.
05:34But coming to an organization that has been winning a lot, like Philadelphia,
05:38and holds these players to a higher standard,
05:40I think it's just an opportunity, you know, to learn from some of these guys.
05:43And I would probably predict that he had other offers as well,
05:47but he's trying to get his career back on track.
05:49And what better way to do it than come to the reigning Super Bowl champion?
05:53So, we'll see what happens.
05:55But maybe this guy could be a sneaky weapon, could find his way.
05:58Marshall's the first wide receiver the Eagles have signed this offseason.
06:02So, hopefully this puts to bed that nonsense rumor that they're going to take a wide receiver
06:06in the first round or anything like that.
06:09But anyway, welcome Terrace Marshall to the Philadelphia Eagles.
06:12And maybe a welcome to another player, okay?
06:16Texas A&M edge Nick Scorton with Brandon Graham yesterday during his visit with the Eagles.
06:23So, he wanted to pick with the legend BG.
06:26And it was reported a couple days ago that the Eagles were going to meet with Nick Scorton.
06:31And he's getting a lot of buzz right now in that first round.
06:34A lot to like about Scorton as a prospect.
06:36Good pass rushing moves and only 20 years old.
06:39Now, we are going to bring up the draft profile for Nick Scorton because this is huge, ladies
06:44and gentlemen.
06:45NFL comparison is Trey Hendrickson.
06:48And again, we've been talking about all these defensive linemen, these edge rushers, and
06:51you know, different guys the Eagles could draft.
06:53Nobody really knows.
06:54But from my own research on Scorton, I mean, these draft experts have him rated really high.
07:00He's very aggressive.
07:01He's explosive.
07:02And it says here, he has the potential for creating havoc on all three downs.
07:07They're projecting this guy to be a three-down player in the NFL.
07:11Says he won't outrace or bulldoze tackles, but he does utilize tempo alterations.
07:16He rarely shows opponents the same look on consecutive plays.
07:20And he's just very consistent in finding new creative ways to get to the quarterback.
07:25And it says teams through chips and double teams out of respect.
07:28So this guy is going to be a very good player at the next level.
07:32This past year, he had what?
07:34Five sacks?
07:35Five sacks, 37 tackles.
07:37He had a forced fumble.
07:38I like this guy a lot.
07:39And I think he's going to be a really good player at the next level.
07:43And you know, obviously coming into the Eagles building and taking a pick with BG.
07:46I mean, the fact they have BG in here talking to this guy, I'm not saying they're going to
07:50draft them, but they must have some really good interest in them, right?
07:53Maybe I'm reaching a little bit overall, though.
07:55So this guy has a really translatable game, and he projects as a three down edge at the
08:00next level.
08:01I really like him a lot.
08:02And, you know, I'm sure with, you know, some of these technique things against the run will
08:05improve and bring them into the Eagles building.
08:08Let him play with some of these other young studs.
08:10I think it'd be really good.
08:12Honestly, they say he's always in the middle of everything.
08:14He's a forced player like George Karloftis was coming out.
08:18Skorton has a little more rush.
08:20So excited for this guy.
08:22Maybe he won't be there at 32.
08:23Maybe the Eagles would have to trade up for him a little bit, but hey, he looks happy.
08:27This guy looks happy to be here.
08:29And, you know, he's got the wise words of BG already projecting onto him.
08:34Maybe he's already fitting right in with the group.
08:36So give me your thoughts on Nick Skorton and other prospects down below.
08:40But overall, ladies and gentlemen, the Eagles continue to move forward.
08:44We are a couple weeks out from the NFL draft.
08:47Where do you think the Eagles are going?
08:48I'm still sticking with my prediction that they are going to go either on the defensive
08:53line or the offensive line early.
08:55They're going to address tight end.
08:57They're going to address safety.
08:59And, you know, I think Howie's got some tricks up the sleeve.
09:02So we'll see what happens.
09:03They're definitely not going to draft 20 players over the next two years.
09:07Shefty already confirmed.
09:08We will see a couple trades.
09:09I am so pumped and excited to get this moving on and forward.
09:13Give me your thoughts down below in the comment section.
09:16As always, appreciate everybody for tapping and be sure to like, comment and subscribe.
09:20And I'll catch you on the next one.
