00:37involving a 65 year old man deltona city worker but thankfully he's going to be okay we're told
00:43it happened here around near alley 977 and howland boulevard as that worker was picking up trash here
00:49again thankfully he's going to be okay here's some video we shot here in the past hour or so
00:54deputies said it involved the public works employee picking up trash he was hurt by what
00:59deputies say appeared to be a homemade explosive device or a firecracker it all happened here again
01:04on courtland and howland the employee's co-workers said the employee picked up picked it up lit the
01:09firecracker well don't went off in his hand the employee was hurt but hold on a second so like
01:14he found a stick of dynamite and he's like hey let's light it up and it instantly went off yeah
01:19super short fuse it was just like yeah um the area was evacuated and deputies conducted a search
01:26and we're not sure if anything was found we just got this 9-1-1 call made by the employee's co-worker
01:32my partner uh lit off a firecracker that he saw as he found and he's blown his hand apart
01:40any chance he made that thing himself and was just fooling around and saying he found it no i think
01:50someone threw something out and he was like look at this it's a good firecracker well there's a wick
01:54on it i wonder what happens if you light it usually it's not you shouldn't light something you just find
