00:00Hey, what's up, y'all? Jell-O here.
00:02It's Jell-O, and I'm Sarah, from Press for Animals of Veterans, Detroit.
00:06All right, guys, so we are doing this every single Tuesday where we want to highlight a dog that needs to be adopted.
00:13Now, we've been hanging out with Hallie for quite some time, and he's amazing.
00:17Like, this dog is amazing. He's so calm and well-mannered, and just, he just, he seems like a couch potato.
00:24Like, he's one of those dogs where you sit on the couch and he just wants to sit on your lap and just give you all the love in the world.
00:29Yes, he's a 73-pound lap dog.
00:32I mean, if you can take 73 pounds on the lap, then cool.
00:35But, so, explain to them how they can go through with the adoption process, all of that other good stuff.
00:40So, this is Hallie. He's about eight years old. He came to us, so, at Press for Animals of Dearborn.
00:47He came as a stray. We think he did have a family at one point.
00:51Probably just got lost, and unfortunately, they never found him.
00:56He's super sweet.
00:57He's chill, man.
01:00He's kind of goofy, but he is an awesome dog.
01:03So, if you are interested in him, you can check out our website at MetroDetroitAnimals.org.
01:08There's a whole little Adopted Animal section.
01:11He is there, his picture, his profile, and you can fill out an adoption question here for him, and hopefully take him home.
01:20He is awesome.
01:22We all love him.
01:23Obviously, we love all our animals, but he is a staff favorite, for sure.
01:26He's one of our favorites.
01:27He's one of our favorites.
01:28He hung with us the entire time we slept in the shelter to try to get, you know, donations for the dogs.
01:33It's really hard, of course, because of the pandemic.
01:36You know, dogs or friends for animals are actually struggling to make sure that these dogs are taken care of.
01:41What is it, like 3,000 dogs a year?
01:43Yeah, we get about 2,500.
01:45It's crazy.
01:45So, and I talked about this before.
01:47If you did the math, you know, it costs about 500 bucks to take care of these dogs, to give them medication, you know, vaccinations, feed them.
01:55And the adoption fee is what, $80?
01:57The average fee is about 80.
01:59About 80 bucks.
02:00So, you can imagine they're, the over-under, they're, the overhead is really, really high for these animals.
02:05So, if you can adopt, man, and you have room, do it.
02:08I mean, this dog is amazing.
02:09Look at him.
02:10He's amazing.
02:11He is amazing, man.
02:12He's such a good boy.
02:14Oh, we love you, Holly.
02:15Holly's just chill, man.
02:17I don't know why I just want to lay down with this dog so bad.
02:20Yeah, and he, Joanna and Jello joined us and spent the night, that last weekend, two weekends ago, for Paws in Pajamas.
02:28It was our first of that event.
02:30It was a celebrity sleepover.
02:31So, Holly was one of the dogs they got to spend some time with.
02:37And he's having a good time today.
02:39And he's just walking around.
02:40He's like, yo, there's a lot of space out here, man.
02:41He's looking at yourself in the room like he's supposed to be cute.
02:45So, if you're interested, you should fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website,
02:50metrgyforanimals.org.
02:52You can give us a call at 313-943-2697.
02:56And you can chat.
02:58They'll let you know if your household is a good fit for him.
03:00If you have any other pets, you can, if you have dogs, you can bring them in, you can do dog meat.
03:05Make sure they get along.
03:06And what's it called that one day you can shoot him out for a couple hours?
03:09Doggy Day Out.
03:10Doggy Day Out.
03:10You can take them for a doggy day out and have them for a few hours.
03:13Yeah.
03:13So, for the rest of the year until the weather gets too bad, we're actually doing them every
03:18Saturday.
03:18Oh, cool.
03:19So, you can come from 9 to 1 and take them out for a day.
03:23You can, you know, go to the park, go hiking, go to a pet store, just take them home.
03:26It's not going on the couch.
03:27And then if you fall in love and can't bring them back, we'll fill out the papers for you.
03:31Look at that tall wagon.
03:32He's just a happy dog.
03:33And you got to forgive our gloves.
03:35Our boss is like, oh, you got to wear gloves.
03:39So, please adopt Holly.
03:41Take a look at him because he's so stinking cute.
03:43He just wants to love.
03:44Yeah.
03:45Say bye, Holly.
03:46Hey, buddy.
03:48Look, say bye.
03:49Bye.
03:49Say bye.
03:51Bye bye.
03:51Say bye.
03:52Bye bye.
