Ce vendredi 18 avril se terminait le 2e Giro d'Abruzzo avec une 4e étape indécise et débridée. Après deux grandes boucles autour de la montée de Sparazzano (3,7km à 4,9%), l'échappée a finalement eu raison du peloton, et c'est encore Ivo Oliveira (UAE Team Emirates XRG) qui s'est imposé pour la deuxième fois de la semaine en Italie. Déjà victorieux de la 2e étape, le Portugais a cette fois-ci devancé au sprint son dernier compagne de fuite, Sjoerd Bax (Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team). C'est la troisième victoire de la formation UAE Team Emirates XRG en 4 étapes. Pas inquiété, l'Allemand Georg Zimmermann (Intermarché-Wanty) a conservé son avance et s'impose au classement général, succédant au palmarès à Alexey Lutsenko.
