00:00A couple big stakes races on Saturday, Roberto, that we're going to talk about.
00:03First up is race number nine on Saturday.
00:06It's the grade two Elkhorn.
00:07So we have horses going long on the turf here, mile and a half on the grass.
00:12We're looking at the morning line.
00:13The number six horse, limited liability, is eight to five.
00:17He's coming off a really good effort most recently at Gulfstream Park,
00:21where he was part of a fast pace.
00:23He finished third.
00:24He was only beaten a neck in a grade three race.
00:27So he's coming into this race off some really nice efforts.
00:30Do you think he's the horse to beat?
00:31And who are some of the horses on your radar in this one?
00:34I think he is the horse to beat.
00:36But, you know, this is a very short price, eight to five.
00:40I mean, it's a mile and a half race.
00:43I like Mr. Cut, the number nine.
00:47I think they come from the same race, if I'm not mistaken.
00:51Yep.
00:52No, they don't come from the same race.
00:54They were both at Gulfstream Park.
00:55They both ran in Gulfstream, correct.
00:57They both ran in Gulfstream.
00:59But this horse is...
01:00Jerry DeVoe hasn't been doing as good as she was doing at Fairgrounds.
01:07But I still like this horse.
01:09I mean, if you see his campaign, he was a very solid horse in 2024.
01:14They took him to Ascot.
01:15It's not easy for a horse to recover after you run on Ascot.
01:20But people think, oh, it's Dubai World Cup.
01:24It's hard to recover a horse.
01:26Or Saudi Cup.
01:27Same thing applied to tour horses when they try Ascot.
01:31Mysticut was running here last year in the U.S.
01:35And was running so well.
01:36In fact, in this exact race, the Elkhorn was second last year behind a really nice horse named Silver Knot.
01:43And then when horses have to travel internationally, think about it.
01:46It's like with an athlete might have to go and play in the Olympics or might have to go and play in a World Cup.
01:50It takes so much out of you, that travel.
01:53And you're going to probably take a few races until you're able to build that stamina back up.
01:58Roberto, I completely agree with you.
01:59I think it's going to be like a big-time improved effort from what we saw for Mysticut last time out.
02:05Because what's nice, we know what his A-game is.
02:09If he were to show up with one of those best efforts, we're just hoping now that Sheree has set him up to run his best race, second start back in the country.
02:17And I think if you look at the last two workouts, the workouts on March 28th, 46-3, that's a really good workout.
02:28Yep.
02:29That tells me this horse is back to the off-horn.
02:33And you also, if you watch the replay of the Magdi Armita, this horse, you know, he finished six, but just two lanes, two and a half lanes behind.
02:44With problem.
02:45He checked twice.
02:45Legitimate trouble.
02:47Exactly.
02:47And he was the favorite.
02:49And now it's six to one.
02:51I prefer to take six to one, seven to one, instead of, you know, eight to five on the favorite, the number six.
02:59We're seeing this race very similarly.
03:00I thought the nine would just offer you more value at, you know, six to one than that eight to five on the morning line that you're going to get with limited liability.
03:08Just a few more seconds on this race.
03:10Roberto, any other horses you want to mention underneath as long shots?
03:13I mean, underneath, you have to play a sack.
03:15You have to take advantage of the 15%, you know, low takeout on the sack that's in Keeneland.
03:20He's been doing so well for me.
03:22So I want to keep going.
03:24So I would include the six.
03:26I will include the number 12.
03:29This horse was a scratch the last time that, you know, they entry at Keeneland.
03:34So we'll see how it does here.
03:37And the number two, Grand Sonata.
03:40I think, you know, he always ran well.
03:42So I think, you know, he deserves a shot here.
03:45So that's the ninth race, the Elkhorn, where they'll be on the turf.
03:49We move to race number 10 at Keeneland on Saturday.
03:52This one is the grade three Ben Ali.
03:54It's a race for older horses traveling a mile and three sixteenths.
03:58And they're going to be on the dirt in here, Roberto.
04:00And there's really no standout in this race.
04:03For like a graded stakes race, you have a lot of different horses that are coming in from different places.
04:08I think you can make a case for basically every horse in this field.
04:11Who are some of the horses that were on your radar that you want to be using in here?
04:15Well, first of all, I want to clarify this.
04:17You say Ben Ali.
04:19I hear some race callers saying Ben Ali.
04:21Okay, there we go.
04:23This is white people language.
04:25To correct me, please forgive me if I'm wrong.
04:27All right?
04:27There we go.
04:28No, I like a long shot here.
04:32Tennessee Lamb, number three.
04:34I mean, it's a lot of the third race of the cycle.
04:38I mean, either it's third race after layup or third race after, you know, the debut with, you know, not winning the first two races.
04:49And Rusty Arnold and Jose Ortiz, they're doing really well when they're together, especially at Keeneland.
04:58So I think this horse is legit.
05:00This is number three.
05:02It's eight to one.
05:04And if you see the prior race, you know, before last race, they ran on turf.
05:11And then they switched to dirt.
05:14And he improved, you know, the Bayer speed figure, 14 points.
05:18And he won by a pole.
05:20He could have won by more that day.
05:22Johnny V was just, you know.
05:24One of the things about that race, Birdo, there's not that much early speed.
05:31I have the three picked in the second spot because of that.
05:35I think it could sit a really nice trip.
05:37Tennessee Lamb.
05:38Give a look to the two, Prince of Power, who might be able to steal this race up front.
05:43Here's how Roberto stacks them up in race number 10, the Ben Ali.
05:47Here's how I stack them up with the two on top of the three.
05:50Here's how I stack them up with the two on top of the three.
