The Sessions Court in Petaling Jaya, Selangor was told on Monday (April 21) that traces of blood were found in the room and bathroom of the late Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matin’s home at Block R, Idaman Apartment, Damansara Damai, during a luminol test conducted by the police forensic team.

00:20who was then a senior investigation officer at the Pertaling Jaya police headquarters,
00:25said the test was conducted at night on December 9, 2023, at the boys' home and several nearby units.
00:34Testifying on the 17th day of the trial of Zayn Rayyan's parents, Isma Neera Abdul-Manaf and Zaim
00:41Ikhwan Zahari, Hafizi said traces of blood were detected in the child's room while blood or DNA
00:48evidence was also found in the bathroom. However, he could not confirm the source of the blood in the
00:54room. He said Isma Neera had previously told him that her son, who had autism, would occasionally
01:00suffer nosebleeds and smear blood or mucus on the walls and other parts of the house.
01:06She also mentioned that he once bled after cutting himself with a razor blade in the bathroom.
01:11However, a chemistry report later confirmed that the blood found in the bathroom belonged to Zaim
01:16Ikhwan. Hafizi, now an operations intelligence officer at the South Klang police headquarters,
01:24was the 28th prosecution witness in the trial before Judge Dr. Shahliza Warno.
01:30On June 13, 2024, both parents, aged 30, pleaded not guilty to a charge of neglecting their six-year-old
01:40son in a manner likely to cause physical harm. The alleged offence took place between noon on
01:46December 5 and 9.55 p.m. on December 6, 2023. Zane Rayyan was reported missing on December 5 and was
01:55found dead the following day in a stream near his home. The trial resumes at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
