00:00Listen, we are ready to take this out for a spin and see if this works.
00:05Ladies and gentlemen, we didn't think it was going to be possible, but Casey Boyd and Nick McElwain got their heads together and figured out a way to make it occur.
00:16And what I am speaking of is the Preston and Steve City Six Popper Shot Championship.
00:22Yeah!
00:22And I believe this is going to be our seventh year doing that.
00:30I'm hearing people talking, and I'm not sure who that is.
00:33So I'll do games live.
00:34Ah, okay. It's probably Zoo, right?
00:36That sounds like Zoo.
00:37Okay. Well, you know what? Let's get right into that because we're going to do things a little bit differently this year.
00:42I'll explain exactly how it's going to roll out, but we may as well welcome the gentleman who's going to be bringing us the play-by-play as he has done for the last several years.
00:51He's trying to figure out a way to make this thing work. You can hear him saying it.
00:55Please welcome Mr. Mark Zuma!
00:57Hey!
00:59Hey, Zoo, are you there?
01:03No.
01:04No? Okay. We've got lots of people talking, and none of them are Mark Zuma.
01:10Can we get them up here to scrimmage?
01:11I don't know. Can we get them up there? I think they're having conversations with each other.
01:15Preston, I think we can get them up there to scrimmage.
01:16They're doing their job right now until they get to us.
01:19Right. All right, Mark Zuma, are you there?
01:23See, you haven't played this song for me. It's called The Zoo from the scoreboard.
01:26Perfect.
01:27Imagine if this was going well.
01:29Yeah.
01:29I wonder if we could do that.
01:31Oh, yeah.
01:31There's just so many moves.
01:32I see him.
01:34You know what? They may want to stop talking.
01:36Hey, guys, we're about to go to the segment. Zoo, we're going to open with you.
01:38You got it.
01:39We're actually in the segment now.
01:40My camera's going off. It is off, and you'll hear the show.
01:43Who is talking?
01:44I think it might be Mike Comstock from Indre.
01:46Ah, okay. Hey, Zoo, are you there?
01:48Oh, I'm here.
01:50Hey!
01:52Always!
01:53We only introduced you about two minutes ago.
01:55How are you doing, Mark?
01:58Listen, I live my life in a two-minute delay, so that's the big deal.
02:03Good point.
02:04All right, I was just about to explain how we're doing things this year, Mark,
02:08and it's obviously any type of activity is a bit of a challenge to organize
02:14where people have to gather together, so we decided to do it a different way.
02:18It was Casey's brainchild.
02:20He called you, and he said your response was immediate.
02:22Yes, I'm in, so we appreciate that, man.
02:25Hey, listen, I've got to be doing something at some point.
02:27You know what I'm saying?
02:28I'm sitting here.
02:29I'm like a rotting apple.
02:30I have to tell you, I'm sitting in the waiting room with the coaches,
02:32and I said, I feel like the accountant on Academy Awards night.
02:35And I'm the only one who knows who won this thing.
02:39It's true.
02:39There's actually only a handful, and they've all been now.
02:42They all have Secret Service protection.
02:44Yeah.
02:45Yeah.
02:45So what Zoo is referring to is the fact that the way we had to do it,
02:49because we weren't going to be able to have groups of people gathering here,
02:53and we really weren't going to have much room to put even a pop-a-shot
02:55in this much, much smaller tent that we're broadcasting from.
02:58So Casey had the bright idea that we would contact the city coaches
03:03and ask them if they wouldn't mind filming them doing a round of free throws
03:09in their school's gym.
03:11We film it, and we make sure it's, you know, no redos or anything like that.
03:14No special effects.
03:15Nope.
03:16Nope.
03:16Green screen.
03:17And nobody knows what the scores will be,
03:19so everybody still at this point feels like they are a viable, you know,
03:23possible champion in this event.
03:25So we had them film it.
03:26We got the video over to Zoo.
03:28Zoo did a play-by-play.
03:30Yes.
03:30And we prerecorded the whole thing.
03:32As only he can.
03:33Yeah, that is correct.
03:35And packaged it all together.
03:36And, you know, we had all of the coaches do the preliminary round,
03:40which is free throws.
03:41And then we also had them all shoot three-pointers for the championship round,
03:46not knowing who was going to make it to the final round.
03:49And only two coaches make it to the final round,
03:52but all six coaches shot both rounds as well.
03:55Okay.
03:56Like Zoo was saying, only he, I, Nick Murphy, who edited the video,
04:02and this guy Chuck, who we have a trophy, and the trophy has been engraved,
04:07so only four of us know who actually won this whole thing.
04:09Now, at the time we start playing things back,
04:11they're all going to have to turn a key simultaneously, correct?
04:14Yes, as a matter of fact.
04:15In order to make it work.
04:17So, and one of the things I want to point out about the championship trophy
04:20that Casey had mentioned is we decided to change things.
04:25Initially, when we did this, it was a golden jockstrap.
04:30Yes.
04:30Or no, it was a cup.
04:31Yeah.
04:31A protective cup.
04:32A cup.
04:33Mounted on a board.
04:35And we were very proud of that.
04:37And it made its way around from coach to coach for a little while.
04:40But we decided to make things a little bit more legitimate this year
04:42with a heart to it.
04:43It's hard to monogram a cup.
04:45I'm going to hold this up, and I won't show the name or anything like that,
04:48but we actually have a championship cup that has been created.
04:52And we decided to give this a name to a very important person
04:56and a huge fan of the Preston and Steve show.
04:59She was assistant to Jay Wright for many, many years.
05:02And her name was Helene Marcanti.
05:05And Helene just loved that Jay got involved with this.
05:09So we are officially going to dub this the Marcanti Cup.
05:12Awesome.
05:12And that is what the champion will win.
05:14So, unfortunately, she lost her battle with cancer, and we miss her dealer.
05:19Honestly, she's as essential to this getting off the ground in its first go-round
05:23and following through all the years.
05:25Her energy helped propel this, and she was a sweetheart.
05:29And if you recall, Jay Wright has won this trophy twice.
05:34Yes.
05:34And he reacted, I mean, more excited when he won this thing
05:38than when Villanova won the national championship with a buzzer-beater three-pointer.
05:44I mean, I've got chills thinking about that game-winning shot,
05:48and he just kind of had this look and like a little tiny fist pump.
05:51When he won this thing because of Helene, he went absolutely bonkers.
05:56He ran around like a lunatic.
05:57So we have dubbed it that, which is cool.
06:01And also, this cup will also kind of serve like a Stanley Cup,
06:04meaning when a champion is crowned,
06:07that champion will then carry that cup for an entire year,
06:11and then we'll have to bring the cup back to the tent for the following year's champion.
06:15Yep.
06:15By the way, has anyone noticed that the Zeus beard is just phenomenal?
06:18Yeah, dude, it's gotten bushy, bud.
06:20That is a – can we get a clipping of your beard to put in the cup for the winner?
06:26I love it.
06:27You have to drink the – I love that.
06:30Hey, Zoo, real quick, because I know we're going to move on to things,
06:33but tonight's the draft.
06:35So, like, the NBA has been, you know, since the Lakers won, you know,
06:39and so trades were happening yesterday.
06:41But tonight's the draft.
06:42What are your thoughts on the draft?
06:44Yeah, it's really exciting.
06:45We have – we're at 21, we've got four picks in the second round,
06:49and we've got Daryl Morey in the front office, who is known to do just about anything.
06:52He is a really smart guy.
06:54I had the opportunity to do something with him for the 76ers the other day.
06:58And, you know, he kind of comes off like as a real casual surfer dude,
07:02a guy that you would meet in a bar and talk to for a couple of hours.
07:04But he's getting down to it, and I'm really excited for tonight.
07:08Excellent.
07:08Hey, and before we get this underway, Zoo, were you pretty impressed with the –
07:11not to tip the hand,
07:13but were you impressed by the coaches using a full-scale regulation-size hoop and ball?
07:19Yeah, it was great.
07:20It was really cool.
07:21They had somebody taping it.
07:23I will say that a couple of the coaches strategically did a better job than the other guys
07:30because two of the coaches – I'm not saying who until we actually play the tape –
07:34not only had someone shagging, but they had someone next to them with a rack of balls,
07:40and that turned out to be, I think, a much more efficient way to do it.
07:43Yeah.
07:43That's the way I would think you'd want to do it.
07:45Yeah, yeah, yeah.
07:46I would say maybe a couple of the coaches were in it to win it.
07:48Yeah.
07:49And honestly, the prep is as much a pathway to success here,
07:55and, of course, paying people off.
07:57That, too.
07:57That's part of it.
07:58All right, so, Case, should we get this started?
08:01Yeah, let's get this thing started.
08:02All right, I'm going to begin by introducing the coaches.
08:05We'll meet them one at a time.
08:06We'll say hello.
08:07We'll play the tape, and then we'll get the reaction afterwards,
08:10and then we'll move on to the next.
08:11And we have six, obviously, to go through with the two highest scores
08:14going on to a championship round of three-pointers.
08:17Now in his fifth season with the Drexel Dragons, a native of Morgantown, West Virginia,
08:23he played college basketball at Ithaca College after graduating from the Hill School
08:28in Pottstown, PA.
08:30He was previously the head coach at Army at 44 years old with height and weight currently unknown.
08:40Please welcome Zach Spiker!
08:46Morning, coach.
08:50Morning, guys.
08:51How you doing?
08:51Great to be here.
08:52We are doing wonderful.
08:53Well, thank you so much.
08:54We appreciate you checking in.
08:55Wow, you're in it.
08:56Is that?
08:56Oh, that's a virtual background.
08:57I'm like, dude, you're on the court right now.
09:00You can't tear that guy away from there.
09:02He's at the top of the Eiffel Tower, Preston.
09:06Hey, listen, and we're going to do this to every single coach.
09:09We want to thank you for taking time out of your schedule to participate in this.
09:15Did you have fun doing it this way?
09:18It was great.
09:19I think my score may have been better from the free throws than it was from the Papa shot.
09:23The last four years.
09:24So, maybe I've got a better team.
09:27I don't know.
09:28As a player, what was your specialty?
09:30Were you known as a shooter?
09:32Were you a passer?
09:34Passing the defense.
09:35If you regard me, you were going under on the ball screen.
09:38Okay.
09:39All right.
09:39Excellent.
09:39Well, we're going to find out how you did, and we'll get your reaction to this after we roll the tape.
09:44So, are we ready?
09:45All right.
09:46Nick Murphy, roll the tape.
09:47Here we go.
09:49Okay.
09:49First up, we have Zach Spiker, the head coach of the Drexel Dragons, and we are underway.
09:53He makes his first free throw.
09:55Spiker, of course, now in his fifth season leading the Drexel men's basketball program.
09:59He's ten seconds in.
10:00He's got three interesting scenario here.
10:03He has one man underneath the basket who is shagging balls for him.
10:08He delivers the ball to Spiker at the free throw line, does not bounce at all, just takes the ball in rhythm and shoots.
10:14He's about 25 seconds in.
10:15He only has six.
10:16Now he swishes one more for seven, about halfway through, exactly halfway through his one minute.
10:22Zach Spiker, the Dragons, returning their top five scores as he looks forward to this season, last season.
10:28Drexel, its most wins ever under Spiker.
10:31Right now, he's trying to win this.
10:33He's got 17 seconds to go.
10:34He's got 11.
10:35He's got 12.
10:37He's got, oh, he rims it with nine seconds to go.
10:41He's got 12.
10:42Now he's got 13.
10:43Spiker with six seconds to go.
10:44The Drexel coach has 14.
10:46Here's three seconds.
10:47Oh, he gets it back.
10:48One second to go.
10:49Can he get one more off?
10:50Yes!
10:51Yeah!
10:51That'll do it, 16 for Drexel head coach Zach Spiker.
10:56Wow.
10:56That was pretty damn smooth, man.
10:58That was good.
10:59You know how to hit nothing but net, man.
11:01The ones you were missing were bouncing around the rim, but those all went in nice and clean.
11:06That was pretty badass.
11:08Yes, it was.
11:08Very impressed.
11:09Nice.
11:10And Casey wants me to remind people, you can watch this on our YouTube channel right now.
11:14We're running this whole thing live.
11:15So 16 points.
11:16Hmm.
11:17How do you feel about that score, coach?
11:19Uh, it's better than any score I've had the first four years inside the team.
11:24So your approach, obviously, to shooting free throws is different than Papa Shot.
11:29Well, listen.
11:30Some coaches will go for nothing but net on Papa Shot, and then others will use the backboard.
11:34Do you remember what your approach was for the Papa Shot machine?
11:38Just make them.
11:39I wasn't trying to use the backboard.
11:41Just make them.
11:42Yeah.
11:43Uh, well, listen.
11:43How, uh, a quick question on, uh, the upcoming season and COVID and how that's going to affect.
11:49What's, what's your, your take on, on how you're hoping things roll out?
11:54Well, it, it affects everything.
11:55It affects this event.
11:57It affects our practice.
11:58It affects how we go about our daily lives right now.
12:00And I think you just have to, it's literally one practice at a time.
12:04We're appreciative that we can get in the building, that we can practice, we can be together.
12:09Uh, it's been incredible if you go back to March till now, what our players have experienced
12:14or haven't had a chance to experience.
12:17Um, it's just, it can be a lot.
12:19Yeah.
12:19Really want to have the opportunity to compete and play in games.
12:23And hopefully we're a week out.
12:25We'll play next Wednesday at Penn State.
12:27Um, if things continue to go in this direction and we're thankful for those, that opportunity
12:31to prepare for.
12:32I mean, you're looking at athletes who have, you know, focused their whole lives at getting
12:36to this point.
12:37And this is such a big hiccup, but you know, obviously everyone knows we will get past
12:41this and hopefully get back to what we love about what you do.
12:44All right.
12:4416 points for Zach Spiker.
12:46We're going to move on to coach is going to stand by cause he might make it into the
12:49finals.
12:49We'll find out.
12:50Let's get to our next one.
12:51He returns for his second season with the St.
12:53Joseph's men's basketball program and first as associate head coach, he coordinates the
12:59on court player development program and overseeing the team's defense.
13:04And this will be the second season on Hawk Hill for him.
13:07And first as their associate head coach, after spending the previous four years at his alma
13:11mater, Bucknell University.
13:14Ladies and gentlemen, John Griffin, the first.
13:22Good morning, coach.
13:22How are you doing?
13:24I'm doing well.
13:25Thanks for having me on.
13:27It was a, it was an exciting free throw and three point contest to be a part of.
13:32Nice.
13:32And you're, you're first ever with us, correct?
13:35It was, it was, and it was, it was a bit unique.
13:38We did it after practice.
13:39So I had all the players pointing out all of my flaws, all of my technique flaws, similarly
13:47to the way that I do for them every single shot.
13:51So it was a nice little added pressure bonus.
13:53Over the years, we've talked to the coaches when they, when they've been doing our Papa
13:56Shaw challenge, I'm like, do you ever shoot basic?
13:58So they're like, no, no, no, no, I quit doing this a long time ago.
14:02I just tell people what to do.
14:04So it's got to be interesting having them turn it around on you.
14:06Yeah.
14:06So coach, I, I coached my son's basketball team.
14:09They were, you know, seventh graders last year.
14:11I don't know if we're going to have a season this year in eighth grade, but you know, I
14:14have started every single practice after just kind of messing around, had them all shoot
14:17on a, go to the free throw line and shoot a free throws.
14:20And I, you know, my coaching technique is to keep their shot as simple as possible, keep
14:26the motions down and just try and, you know, uh, do the same thing over and over and over
14:32again.
14:32And I don't know if I was doing the right thing or not.
14:34So yeah, consistency, um, as a shooter technique wise will help, um, your percentages go up.
14:43So that's the right way to go about it at that age.
14:46And then as the, as the kids get bigger and stronger, they'll use that consistency as a
14:50model for, uh, for the future.
14:52Yeah.
14:53Like the same thing every time foot placement, maybe two bounces and then shoot.
14:57That's it.
14:58Yeah.
14:58All while smoking.
15:00Free throws, big routine.
15:02Yeah.
15:02Big time routine for free throws.
15:04Nice.
15:04All right.
15:05Well, let's see how you do.
15:06If you're just tuning in, the city six pop shot challenge was filmed ahead of time in each
15:11coach's gym.
15:12And we are now going to see how John Griffin, the third for St. Joe's does.
15:15Let's roll the tape.
15:16Here we go.
15:20Next up St. Joe's, John Griffin, the third, the associate head coach of the Hawks that's
15:24taking place at a practice gym.
15:25And we are underway.
15:26He misses his first, the coach right now standing at the line.
15:30He appears to be straight away.
15:31He's got pretty good form.
15:32He's got one guy underneath who is shagging basketballs.
15:35There is a rack nearby filled with basketballs, but they are just using this one.
15:39He's 15 seconds in.
15:41He's only got two as he rims his latest free throw attempt.
15:44Now he makes it for three.
15:46John Griffin working with Billy Lang, the former 76er assistant, now the head coach of the
15:51St. Joe's Hawks in his second season.
15:53As we approach the halfway point, 30 seconds in, 30 seconds to go.
15:57He's got seven.
15:58Griffin trying to establish some rhythm.
16:00Now he's got eight.
16:0123 seconds to go.
16:02He's got nine.
16:04His father, John, was the St. Joe's head basketball coach from 1990 to 1995.
16:09But his most immediate concern, this latest competition.
16:1312 seconds to go.
16:13He's got 11.
16:14He needs to have a good back stretch.
16:16He's got 12.
16:17John Griffin of St. Joe's with six seconds to go.
16:19He's got 13.
16:20He's got 14.
16:21He's got three seconds to go.
16:23Two.
16:24Oh, he misses his last one, and that'll do it.
16:2714 for John Griffin III, the associate head coach of the St. Joe's Hawks.
16:32So far, Drexel's Zach Spiker right ahead of him with 16.
16:36Not quite enough for first on that one, John, but that doesn't mean you're out of the hunt
16:42as of yet.
16:43So we're going to see how this plays out.
16:46Have you watched that video back, or is this your first time seeing it?
16:50That's my first time seeing it.
16:52I mean, Coach Spiker clearly got to the rim more than I did, so he was much more comfortable
16:56at the free throw line.
16:58It was very rare for me to get into the paint as a player, so I'm a little bit uneasy at
17:04the free throw line.
17:05You know, I've always found that amazing.
17:07You know, you take Shaq as the great example of an amazing player and couldn't make free
17:12throws.
17:13How does that happen?
17:14I don't know.
17:15I guess you just, you have your specialty on the court, right, Coach?
17:18That's right.
17:19Nice.
17:19All right, well, thank you very much, and we'll see if you make it to the finals.
17:23We appreciate it.
17:23That is St. Joe's.
17:24John Griffin III.
17:25Well done.
17:26And let's move on to our next contestant.
17:30A graduate of Council Rock High School in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and a man who once
17:36scored 69 points against Malvern Prep.
17:39He later graduated from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, where he played
17:44on the basketball team and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity in his 19 seasons
17:50as head coach.
17:51He has led the Wildcats to six Big East Conference championships and led Villanova to the 2016
17:58NCAA championship, defeating North Carolina and the 2018 NCAA championship, beating Michigan
18:05a two-time pop-a-shot champion at six feet, two inches, your head coach of the Villanova
18:13Wildcats, Jay Wright.
18:20And he's not with us.
18:21No, he's not going to be able to be with us until maybe a little bit later on, but his
18:26video is here.
18:27Oh, you're aware of this.
18:29There we go.
18:30The second that I said, Jay, right, I turned to Casey and he's giving me the cutoff signal,
18:35the hand across the throat.
18:38And I'm like, and he's not here.
18:39No, unfortunately, Jay had a Zoom already scheduled for this time.
18:44So we're hoping to maybe get him on the tail end of this segment.
18:49Okay.
18:49And it's really, really important because of the trophy being named the Mercanti Cup after
18:54his longtime assistant, Helene Mercanti.
18:55It's very, you know, for me, it's important to have him on.
18:58Yep.
18:58Now, he did shoot his free throws and we do have the video ready to go.
19:02Our man, Mark Zumoff, on the play-by-play.
19:05And you'll hear, by the way, you'll hear a little ding every time that he makes a basket.
19:09So let's roll the tape.
19:10Here we go.
19:11Next up, Villanova's Jay Wright at his practice gym.
19:15And we are underway.
19:16The coach making his first.
19:17Showing very good form.
19:19Wearing a stylish Villanova face mask.
19:22He makes his first three just 10 seconds in.
19:25Jay Wright, his 20th season as the Wildcats head coach.
19:28And a pair of NCAA national championships.
19:31He's about 20 seconds in.
19:33He's showing good form.
19:34He's got five.
19:35A solid performance so far by the coach.
19:37By the way, one of only three active Division I head coaches with multiple national championships
19:42to his credit.
19:43The others, Mike Krzyzewski of Duke and Roy Williams of North Carolina.
19:47He's got about 25 seconds to go.
19:49He's only got nine.
19:50He's got to get cracking here.
19:51Jay Wright of Villanova now with 20 seconds to go.
19:53He's got 10.
19:54Getting the ball from one man who is shagging for him.
19:58And that is it.
19:5815 seconds left.
20:00Oh!
20:00He gets a couple of bounces on the rim.
20:02He's got 12.
20:0310 seconds to go.
20:04He's got 13.
20:05Jay Wright of Villanova coming down the stretch.
20:07He swishes one for 14.
20:09Five seconds to go.
20:11Oh!
20:11He hits the back of the rim.
20:12Two seconds.
20:13He'll only have time for one more.
20:15Got it!
20:15So he's got 15.
20:17That puts him in second place behind Zach Spiker of Drexel with three in the can and
20:22three more yet to shoot.
20:24Nice, smooth delivery there.
20:26He took his time.
20:27He made every shot.
20:28Just missed a couple of them.
20:30But that was pretty impressive.
20:32So he is in second place right now.
20:33Still in the running to possibly move on to the championship round.
20:36So maybe we'll be able to check in with Coach a little bit later on.
20:40In the meantime, let's get our next one up and running.
20:44Born on October 2nd, 1972.
20:46Right here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
20:48And a graduate of Simon Gratz High School.
20:52He is a former professional basketball player who played 14 seasons in the NBA.
20:57Including eight with your Philadelphia 76ers.
21:01He is currently the head coach for his alma mater, Temple University.
21:05At six feet, five inches, 209 pounds.
21:09Ladies and gentlemen, Aaron McKeown!
21:16Good morning, Coach.
21:19I see him clapping and giving us a thumbs up.
21:21I'm sorry I was on mute here.
21:23There you go.
21:24Hey, nice to see you again, sir.
21:26Thanks for coming on this morning.
21:28Thanks for having me.
21:29And how has, you know, we've been talking mainly about the form and so on.
21:35Getting ready for, let's talk about Temple and the season and so on.
21:40Have practices been going on for a little while?
21:42How are things different so far this year?
21:45They've been going.
21:46I think the most important part is keeping these guys engaged.
21:50It's been a lot that's been going on in our society, you know, throughout the summer.
21:54And, you know, into the fall and leading into the season.
21:57But the biggest thing I try to get to impress upon those guys is, look, we get the opportunity to play college basketball and be student-athletes.
22:06You know, there's a lot of other people out here that are struggling in our world today.
22:09So let's enjoy this.
22:11Let's enjoy one another.
22:12Yeah.
22:12I assume that, as you said, that the idea in any season, in any situation, you know, outside of COVID, it would be difficult enough to keep focused.
22:21Then you add on this and all the other stuff that's pulling them mentally in other directions.
22:26But they're responding well?
22:30I like to think so.
22:31Yeah.
22:31I'll tell you at the end of the season.
22:34Yeah.
22:35Yeah, I guess that's a good point.
22:36It's got to be a tough place for a coach because the world is full of distractions, even when it's a normal world we're living in.
22:44When there's all kinds of society issues and illness issues and things like that, I would imagine that it takes some effort sometimes to motivate the members of a team
22:55and remind them that not only what they're doing is for themselves, but for the entertainment of people who are looking for a distraction as well.
23:02Would that be correct?
23:04Yeah, this is what we do.
23:06We love basketball.
23:08Myself, along with the other coaches that's on the line here, we love being in the gym.
23:12So, you know, what better way to have it?
23:14There's a lot of other things that we can be out here doing, but we choose to be, you know, involved in basketball.
23:19Hey, Coach, I want to ask you about the upcoming NBA season.
23:22Obviously, you're a college coach, but I was actually having this discussion with my wife and son about the upcoming season
23:28because, obviously, with what happened with the pandemic, the NBA season went a little bit longer.
23:34But so there are some teams that are going to have a really long time off in between their last game they play and their first game they play.
23:43And then, obviously, other teams like the two teams that were in the NBA finals where they had a shorter amount of time.
23:48For you as a player and even as a coach, do you think it is more beneficial to have the seasons butt up against each other,
23:56like it's going to happen for the Lakers or for maybe another team that has been off since before the bubble?
24:04Well, I think for a guy like LeBron and guys that's been around in the NBA for a long time and playing all-star games,
24:12they play on Olympic teams.
24:13And I think it's difficult for those guys to start right away because of the amount of mileage that they have on their bodies.
24:21But for some of these younger guys who didn't have a long stretch in the playoffs, it's going to benefit those guys early on.
24:29But, you know, they're pros, and that's why they call them professionals.
24:33Those guys understand how to take care of their bodies and minds and prepare themselves for the long haul of a season.
24:39That's what I said. That's exactly what I said.
24:41Nice. You should play professional basketball, Casey.
24:43That's good. I'll think about it.
24:44All right. Let's see how you do.
24:45We need 15 at least, or you need to beat 15 to get into the finals.
24:50So let's roll the tape on Aaron McKee.
24:55Practice gym on the campus of Temple University.
24:58He makes his first two.
24:59Aaron McKee, of course, the former NBA player, now in his second season with the Owls.
25:04And he's got an interesting setup here.
25:06He has one man underneath shagging basketballs and another man right next to him just to his right at the line
25:12with a rack of basketballs.
25:14And Aaron McKee is taking the balls off the rack, and so far he is doing well.
25:18He's got nine.
25:19He's got about 35 seconds in.
25:21He's got 10.
25:22Aaron McKee showing great form, showing the same form that he displayed when he was the sixth man in the year in the NBA back in 2001.
25:30He's got 25 seconds to go.
25:31He's got 15.
25:32He is threatening Zach Spiker, our leader, and he's got 16.
25:35He ties him, and now he's our leader at 17.
25:38Aaron McKee's got some rhythm, and here he goes.
25:40He's got 19 with 15 seconds to go.
25:42Last one off the front of the rim.
25:44Second one off the back of the rim.
25:46Finally makes one.
25:47He's got 20.
25:48He's got 8 seconds to go.
25:4921 for Aaron McKee.
25:5122 for McKee with 4 seconds to go.
25:533 seconds.
25:54McKee misses one.
25:56Now he makes it.
25:56He's got 23, and that'll do it.
25:5923 for Aaron McKee.
26:00By far our leader after 4 have shot.
26:05Wow, nice job.
26:07I was talking to you guys.
26:08I was talking to you guys.
26:10I thought it was pop-a-shot room, right?
26:12Right.
26:13Yes.
26:13Yes.
26:15Listen, the pop-a-shot's got all those balls down there in the bottom that you get to grab at.
26:21Yes.
26:21So I think you had the right idea with having the ball shagged and the whole rack there.
26:26So 23, that's an impressive performance.
26:30And the fact that he was a professional.
26:31That helps.
26:32Yeah, yeah.
26:33Too bad at all.
26:34All right.
26:34Well, listen, coach, we're going to see how you stack up against the others.
26:38So hang on the line, okay?
26:40Excellent.
26:41All right.
26:41Aaron McKee.
26:42We're moving on next to our fifth competitor.
26:46Since 2018, he has been the head men's basketball coach at LaSalle University.
26:52Graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School.
26:56You love them, don't you guys?
26:57And went on to graduate from Drexler University in 2004 with a degree in communications.
27:03Previously, he was an assistant coach to Jay Wright at Villanova University.
27:08Currently, a resident of Conchahawk in Pennsylvania at six feet tall, Ashley Howard.
27:20Coach, good morning.
27:22How are you guys doing?
27:23Man, we are doing well.
27:25Thank you so much for joining us again for this event.
27:28We appreciate it.
27:29Have you seen the other guys go?
27:30I have.
27:33And apparently, we have a ringer in this group.
27:39Nice, man.
27:40Now, listen, do you get out?
27:42Do you shoot hoops at all just for fun from time to time?
27:45So I have a two-year-old.
27:47So the most shooting I'm doing now is on the Little Tykes Court.
27:51In our garage.
27:52So you have a deciding advantage.
27:55I've got a lot of practice over the pandemic.
27:59I don't know how much it helped me during this competition, though.
28:02All right.
28:03Speaking of practice over the pandemic, staying in touch with, you know, during the offseason
28:08with your players and making sure that they stay up on their skills.
28:11Is that something you try to do?
28:15Absolutely.
28:15But, you know, during this time, especially when we couldn't be with our players, you
28:21get a chance to see which guys really love basketball.
28:25Right.
28:25And, you know, fortunately for us, you know, we have a lot of guys that love being in the
28:30gym that, you know, were antsy, that were frustrated when they couldn't get in the gym.
28:36And, you know, now that we have them all back, you know, I think because our guys had that
28:41time off, you know, the energy towards coming to practice every day has been has been pretty
28:46good.
28:46Let me ask you something, because we've noticed we put it in play for this year's, you know,
28:51camp out.
28:52It's the same, but it's different.
28:54Certain things that we're going to definitely carry when we return to normal, when we return
28:59to the camp out that we usually execute.
29:01Is there anything that you've learned during this time that you think you will bring into
29:05a post-COVID training regimen?
29:07You know, it's not anything in particular.
29:12The main thing is just showing gratitude.
29:16Right.
29:16I think once we get caught in our own worlds, we tend to forget how much we have to be thankful
29:23for.
29:24And then when, you know, small things are taken away from us, it reinforces just that sense
29:29of gratitude for everything we have.
29:31So, you know, like the other coaches said, we're very fortunate to be able to do what we
29:36love to do.
29:37And, you know, even during this time, for us to still have the opportunity to practice
29:41and play ball is more than most people have.
29:46Well, that's great advice.
29:47I love it.
29:48All right.
29:48We're going to see how you did on the court.
29:50And let's see if we make it to the finals.
29:52Let's roll it.
29:53Here we go.
29:54Ashley Howard.
29:54Our fifth of five contestants now, the LaSalle Explorers head basketball coach, Ashley Howard.
30:01And we are underway, and the coach makes his first.
30:04Ashley Howard getting ready for his third season as the head coach at 20th and Aldi, the former
30:10assistant to Jay Wright at Villanova.
30:11And he has only one man underneath who is shagging basketball.
30:16So, so far, Aaron McKee has the best setup with the one man underneath and another man
30:20to his right with a rack of basketballs.
30:23And that's how he got it done.
30:24So far, seven in the can after 25 seconds.
30:27Make it eight for the head coach of the LaSalle Explorers, Ashley Howard.
30:31We are halfway through, and he makes his 10th.
30:34A good pace here for Howard.
30:36Remember, Aaron McKee is the leader with 23.
30:38Zach Spiker of Drexel in second place with 16.
30:41Here comes Howard with 20 seconds to go.
30:43He's got 13 as he swishes his latest.
30:45He looks very comfortable now at the line.
30:47He's got 14.
30:4912 seconds to go.
30:49Give him 15.
30:51Here comes Ashley Howard with 10 seconds to go.
30:53Give him 16.
30:54That ties him with Spiker for second.
30:56And now he's alone in second place with 17.
30:59Three seconds to go.
30:59Give him 18.
31:01Two seconds to go for Howard.
31:02Yes!
31:03Right at the buzzer.
31:0419 for Ashley Howard.
31:07That'll make him number two right behind Temple's Aaron McKee.
31:10What Sue didn't point out, he didn't miss one.
31:13No, he didn't.
31:13That was 19 straight.
31:15There weren't any of them that missed, were there?
31:17I don't think there was.
31:18No.
31:19He nailed them all.
31:20That's the coach.
31:21Dude, that was impressive.
31:22That's badass.
31:25I think he stumped on it as well.
31:27I honestly forgot what my score was.
31:31I really...
31:32Well, we're going to remind you.
31:33It was pretty effing awesome.
31:35Yeah.
31:35Yeah, you're currently in second place right now with 19 behind Aaron McKee with 23.
31:39Now, the coach up next is a graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School, which is your nemesis at Bonner.
31:49So, when did you graduate Bonner, by the way?
31:5299.
31:52Yeah.
31:53Okay.
31:53So, Bonner and O'Hara, we've never liked each other.
31:58So, I'm going to be interested to see what happens with our next coach.
32:01All right.
32:01But that was incredible.
32:04Not one.
32:04Any idea how many straight you've ever made without missing before, coach?
32:07Um, it's a lot.
32:12I don't know my number, but...
32:13It's a lot.
32:14Okay.
32:14Because 19 is damn impressive.
32:16Yes.
32:16Yeah.
32:17With that form, too.
32:18All right.
32:19So, far in second place.
32:20We'll see if you make it to the finals.
32:21We've got one more to go, and we are ready to welcome our final coach.
32:24Currently, the head coach of the Penn Quakers men's basketball team and the former head coach of Boston College and Cornell.
32:33He is a native of Springfield Township, Pennsylvania, and a former player at Ursinus College.
32:40Casey's alma mater, once again, prior to becoming the head coach at Cornell University, he began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Springfield High School, Monsignor Bonner High School, Philadelphia University, and then on to the University of Pennsylvania.
32:56A three-time Papa Shot City Six champion, ladies and gentlemen.
33:03Steve Donahue!
33:07What's up?
33:08Welcome back, Coach.
33:09How you doing?
33:11It's great to be back, guys.
33:12Thanks for doing this.
33:13It's an incredible thing that you do.
33:16It's sorry you can't be in person, but we all appreciate that you do this every year.
33:21We've got to tip a hat to Casey and Nick here because they're the guys that were like, listen, we've been doing this tradition for seven years, I think, now.
33:30Well, yeah, it started in 2013.
33:33I've really got to tip a hat to all the coaches and your assistants and anybody that we had to coordinate this with because it was never a question of whether or not you would do it.
33:43It was just, okay, how are we going to get this done?
33:45And since 2013, everybody that we have had to deal with, and in your case, it's Sarah Parks, you guys have been so easy to deal with, and we really, really appreciate you doing this because this is the biggest thing that we do all year.
33:58And, you know, I love that we can count on you guys for this, so thank you.
34:04Yeah, our pleasure, especially during this pandemic that you're seeing the need for your food and all over, but for you to put this effort out is incredible for our city, and we thank you.
34:17Well, you're participating in something, again, the whole idea of this and being out here, and, you know, we know we had to make accommodations for everything,
34:24but we wanted the structure of the campout to be where it usually is with modifications, and you participating in the benchmark feature of the campout for hunger is great.
34:34So, you know, you get those little bits of normalcy.
34:36We know we're heading in the right direction, but honestly, there's been no loss of competitive nature here, and everyone's just stepping up big time, so we're looking forward to seeing your performance.
34:48Yeah, and with that, Coach Howard did not remember what his score was because, you know, everybody did this a few, maybe a week or two ago.
34:58Don't tip it, but do you remember what your score was?
35:02I think I do.
35:04Okay.
35:05You laughed when you said that.
35:07I like that reaction.
35:09I already told Spiker he can take off.
35:12Oh!
35:13All right, let's roll the tape, and we'll talk to you after.
35:19Let's go.
35:19Here we go.
35:20Now the last of six competitors, Steve Donahue of Penn.
35:23Remember, Temple's Aaron McKee in first place with 23.
35:26LaSalle's Ashley Howard with 19.
35:28Donahue at least has to pass Howard to get himself to the finals, and we are underway.
35:34The Penn head coach shooting his free throws.
35:36Where else?
35:37But at the historic Palestra.
35:39And like Aaron McKee of Temple, Penn's Donahue has himself a two-man setup, meaning he has a man underneath shagging basketballs,
35:47passing quickly to a man, to his right at the free throw line, who's got himself a rack of basketballs.
35:52They all are working in concert, and the coach seems to have a rhythm here.
35:57He's 25 seconds in.
35:59He's got nine.
36:00He's got ten.
36:01Doing very well is Penn's Steve Donahue.
36:03Remember, he's been their head basketball coach since March of 2015.
36:07Unfortunately, no basketball for the Quakers.
36:10This year, their season called off due to the virus, so the coach really wants this one.
36:13He's got 20 seconds to go.
36:15He's got 16.
36:16He's got 17.
36:17He's closing in on Howard.
36:18He's got 18 with 15 seconds to go.
36:20He ties Ashley Howard with 19.
36:22Now he's got 20, and he'll be in the finals against Aaron McKee.
36:26What a performance by Steve Donahue.
36:2822.
36:29He's got 23.
36:31He's tied with McKee for first place.
36:32He's got 24.
36:33So it'll be McKee and Donahue in the finals as Donahue ends it with 26 pre-throws made.
36:41Wow.
36:41He is a machine.
36:42Yes.
36:43Likewise, man.
36:44That was awesome.
36:45Beat out Aaron McKee with that 26.
36:48The top score from Steve Donahue.
36:50Aaron McKee with 23.
36:52So that means coaches going on to the finals.
36:55Real quick, as Zu had mentioned there, Coach, no season for you guys?
37:00Nothing's changed at this point?
37:02No season, unfortunately.
37:05The Ivy League has decided not, and it's honestly heartbreaking for our guys.
37:10Right.
37:12Honestly, this is their little window to play college basketball.
37:15I'll be coaching for a while, but unfortunately our guys will not be able to play this year.
37:21So is that just a league decision?
37:22Because some D1 teams are moving forward with their seasons, but the Ivy League has decided
37:26they're not going to play any of the teams this year?
37:29Unfortunately, yes.
37:31It was an Ivy League decision, all eight of us.
37:34Do you see any possibility that that could be reversed?
37:37Because, you know, I don't know when that, I don't know.
37:41Everything has to remain so fluid.
37:42We've had to remain fluid with this.
37:44Maybe is there an array of possibility?
37:46Listen, I don't want to root against the season, for sure.
37:50But if it ends up being a complete mess and we, you know, pause and we restart this and
37:58we go March, April, May, May madness, and who knows what's going to happen with the virus.
38:03I'm not rooting for that.
38:05But if did something like that occur, I think we could pivot at that point.
38:09Okay.
38:10All right, well, we're going to do something because you're going on to the finals against
38:14Aaron McKee, but we're going to switch gears for just a moment because he didn't make it
38:18into the finals, but he is on the line now and we have a chance to pull up Jay Wright.
38:22So let's talk to Jay Wright.
38:23Let's bring him up on to the, on our mind.
38:25There he is.
38:26Hey, coach.
38:29How you doing, guys?
38:30We're all right.
38:31It's nice to see you.
38:32We know you were busy earlier and you didn't get a chance to see your performance.
38:37And maybe that's a good thing because you didn't, you didn't stack up this year.
38:42You didn't come in last.
38:43You came in second to last.
38:45So that's good.
38:49Hey, I, I'm so, I'm so sorry.
38:51I literally had a meeting just off campus.
38:53I was in my car listening to that incredible introduction and I'm driving going, no, no,
39:00I'm not, I'm not here.
39:03Well, listen, I don't, I don't know if you had a chance to hear this, but we,
39:07we've, we've changed the, the trophy this year and we had this cup that we got that
39:13is what you officially win, but we've, we've given it a, a moniker and we did it in honor
39:19of your good friend.
39:20It is now called the Mercanti cup that we're going to be giving away for this each year.
39:24So that is in honor of your dearly departed and our friend as well, Helene Mercanti.
39:29So we wanted to make sure that you knew about that.
39:31Uh, you guys, you guys are the best, man.
39:34I, I, um, I talked to her husband, Jack, her whole family's listening today.
39:40Helene, Helene, um, listened to you guys her whole life, her entire life since you guys
39:47started.
39:47And I, I think you guys remember that maybe one of the first years you did it out in a
39:51Plymouth meeting when, when you called my office to do it and talk to her, I really didn't
39:56know about camp out for hunger, but you know, there's some important people do call here
40:02once in a while.
40:02She doesn't really care.
40:03She's, she's a Ridley girl.
40:05No one impresses her.
40:06But when you guys called, she was like, I taught, I taught the press to this thing.
40:12I was like, I don't, I don't want to go at seven in the morning outside the Plymouth
40:18meeting.
40:20Like you're going, you're going, we're doing this.
40:23And she, she came every year and it means the world to all of us here that you did that.
40:29And, uh, I think it's a lot nicer that you don't have an athletic cup on there.
40:33We, we had to go a little, a little classy.
40:37The tone has changed.
40:38Coach, I got a really nice note from Gina, her daughter this morning.
40:41And it's just so cool that the entire family continues to listen.
40:43We definitely miss her.
40:45We love her, but it's great that we're able to carry on her legacy because she just was
40:48an incredible person.
40:50Oh, thank you, man.
40:52You've been great to her.
40:53You guys all have.
40:55And, um, she was an amazing person, man.
40:57She ran this place and all the coaches will tell you, we all have someone like that.
41:02We, we still miss her.
41:03I'm a mess.
41:04See, that's why there's no way she would have let me have a meeting at 8 a.m.
41:07You guys wouldn't be on.
41:09So I'm still, I'm still struggling without her.
41:13Yeah.
41:13Well, listen, we just, we wanted to at least pop on with you for a moment.
41:16We, we've got to, we got to move on and get to the championship, but we're hoping to
41:20see you here next year in person and, and things will be different then.
41:23But, uh, and thanks for doing, you guys do this every year, but more than any other
41:27year, you guys are the best in Philly.
41:29You should get some award in Philly because it's really needed this year.
41:32So thanks for doing this.
41:33You know what?
41:34A successful camp out will be the reward.
41:36Yep.
41:36Exactly.
41:37Thanks coach.
41:38Good to see you.
41:38Jay Wright guys.
41:39Don't over wildcats.
41:41All right.
41:41That means we're on to the championship round and we are ready to find out who is going to
41:47get the Mercanti cup.
41:49And it comes down to a different, normally we just use the regular popper shot.
41:54Well, Casey wanted to change it up, make it a little bit more challenging this time
41:56around.
41:56And I can see we have all of our competitors on zoom right now, including Mark Zumoff,
42:02who has been doing the play by play, uh, the three pointer, a, a whole different ball
42:08of wax.
42:08Would that be a right phrase?
42:09Yes.
42:09A whole different ball of basket, a whole different ball of basket, I guess.
42:12Uh, and a different basket of balls.
42:15Yes.
42:16Yes.
42:16Yes.
42:16To, uh, by the way, uh, zoo, what do you,
42:19what do you think of the performances you saw all these guys?
42:21I, I think, you know, they look fantastic.
42:25I mean, everybody's form has been great.
42:28Well, they're teaching form, so they better be great.
42:30Yeah.
42:32That's a good point.
42:34But I mean, in the, in the popper shot, there's a, there's a little bit, you got to
42:38learn the trickery real quick.
42:39Where are you going to play it?
42:40But this is just straight up basketball.
42:42There's also clearly now, mind you, the, the, the mechanism.
42:44And as you pointed out, zoo, that the, the, you know, having a, the ball return methodology
42:49and, and that, that definitely helped, but you had to perform when you were getting the
42:54ball and, and they did.
42:56So our leaders going in displayed an incredible, uh, capability.
43:00And our two leaders both had a rack of balls next to them.
43:05So it definitely helped out.
43:06And having your balls racked.
43:07You don't want to do that.
43:08All right.
43:08So we have Aaron McKee and we have Steve Donahue who are going to face off against
43:12each other.
43:13Uh, Case, I don't know who's going to go first.
43:15Do you have any idea?
43:15I believe it's, uh, I believe it's Aaron McKee is going to go first.
43:19All right.
43:19Then, uh, let's roll the tape and let's see how he does with the three pointers.
43:23Here we go.
43:24And now the finals of our competition.
43:26It'll be Temple's Aaron McKee going first against Penn's Steve Donahue.
43:30And they're not shooting free throws, ladies and gentlemen.
43:33Instead, they will be shooting NBA three pointers to decide the champion.
43:37Aaron McKee digging in now in the left corner.
43:41NBA three pointers.
43:42He's got 45 seconds.
43:44He misses his first and he's got a second.
43:46And here goes Aaron McKee.
43:47McKee again in his second season as the Owls head coach.
43:5113 seasons in the NBA.
43:53Eight with the 76ers.
43:55And again, the sixth man of the year.
43:56That was back in 2001.
43:58He's got two made three pointers so far.
44:01And he's got 25 seconds to go.
44:03McKee's got to get cracking here.
44:04Aaron McKee standing in the left corner.
44:06Still only two.
44:07He's got 18 seconds to go.
44:08Finally makes one.
44:09He's got three.
44:1015 seconds to go.
44:11Now he's got some rhythm.
44:12He makes six seconds of ones for four.
44:1411 seconds left.
44:15He's got four.
44:16Give him five as he swishes that one.
44:18Seven seconds left.
44:19He's got six.
44:20McKee again.
44:21He's got seven.
44:22Three seconds to go.
44:23McKee misses.
44:24Two seconds to go.
44:25Yes.
44:26One more for McKee.
44:27Yes.
44:29Wow.
44:29He's got nine made three pointers.
44:32Aaron McKee.
44:33And that sets the table now for Penn's Steve Donahue.
44:37Wow.
44:37I'm dizzy after that.
44:38I know.
44:39The camera work was moving all over the place.
44:41It was like Blair Witch Project meets the NBA.
44:43So, Coach, you chose the corner to shoot from.
44:46You could have chose anywhere beyond the arc.
44:47And you chose the corner.
44:48That's where you're most comfortable.
44:50Well, that gave me my best chance of winning.
44:52And after I was finished shooting, I was exhausted.
44:57Yeah, man.
44:58I wouldn't have picked baseline.
44:59That's I would want, you know, the backboard to fall back on in case.
45:02But nonetheless, nine is a that's pretty good pull.
45:07We're going to see how you do against our other finalists.
45:10So let's bring up the tape on Steve Donahue.
45:12Here we go.
45:14It has all come down to this.
45:16Penn's Steve Donahue taking aim at Temple's Aaron McKee here in our finals.
45:21McKee with nine made threes.
45:24Donahue needs to pass him to become our champion.
45:27And unlike McKee, he was standing in the left corner.
45:30Donahue is going to take his straight away beyond the 23-foot, 9-inch NBA arc.
45:36And we are underway.
45:38Donahue makes his first.
45:39Again, like McKee, employing two men, one underneath and one to his right with a rack of basketballs.
45:45He's got three already.
45:46He's got four.
45:47What a start for Donahue.
45:49He has made his first five.
45:50Donahue, an amazing display.
45:52He hasn't missed.
45:53He's got six.
45:54Donahue again.
45:55Oh, his first miss, but he's got six.
45:57And he's about halfway through.
45:58He's got seven.
45:59Donahue seems to be a cinch to pass McKee.
46:01He's got eight.
46:02He needs one to tie him.
46:04Hits the front of the rim.
46:0516 seconds to go.
46:06Yes.
46:06He ties him at nine.
46:08Here's for the win.
46:09Yes.
46:10Oh, wow.
46:11Steve Donahue is going to be our 2020 champion.
46:14He's got 11.
46:15He's got 12.
46:16What a shooting display by Donahue with two seconds to go.
46:21This is all gravy won, and that'll do it.
46:24Wow.
46:24Steve Donahue is our 2020 champion.
46:28Congratulations.
46:29Oh, my.
46:33I called him a machine earlier.
46:35He was a machine.
46:36The machine.
46:37Jesus.
46:38That is incredible.
46:39And that makes him our four-time champion for this event.
46:46Man.
46:46Now, here's the deal.
46:48Here's why I feel like this is a special thing.
46:51Because Steve Donahue is a graduate of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Grade School Parish,
46:56and that is where Helene Mercanti was a parishioner.
47:00Hey.
47:01Wow.
47:01So that, I am so, so happy and proud.
47:05Way to go, Coach Donahue.
47:08Hey, thanks, guys.
47:09And I didn't know I was going to be named after Helene,
47:13but it's kind of appropriate another Delco guy takes it home in her honor.
47:18Yeah.
47:19Um, great.
47:20And it's really cool that you did that.
47:24Well, it's a beautiful thing.
47:26We're going to have it dipped in a hand sanitizer,
47:29and eventually you'll get to hold it at some point.
47:32His name is on here now four times.
47:35Four times.
47:36And actually, the University of Pennsylvania is represented five times
47:39because Jerome Allen won, I believe, in 2014.
47:43Wow.
47:43So Drexel is, and so it's been Drexel, Nova, and Penn since 2013 that has won this thing.
47:51So.
47:51Amazing.
47:52Wow.
47:52Well, Sal and Temple got to step up the game.
47:54That's, uh, that's very impressive.
47:56And, Coach, you are, you are on it.
47:58I, I, uh, I would think you would play every day by watching him hit those swishes.
48:02By the way, you also, the video production was very good.
48:05We were able to watch it.
48:06It's actually lit beautifully.
48:08Yeah.
48:08It's a wonderful production.
48:10Well, that was Sarah Parks handling the rebounding,
48:13and, uh, Dan Wilde and Mike Mahoney, our SID, uh, deserves a lot of credit.
48:19And for me to beat Aaron McKee in basketball was a total joke.
48:23So.
48:25I didn't have Mark Zumoff calling out my name.
48:28So, uh, my greatest athletic performance right there.
48:34That's excellent.
48:35Wow.
48:35And a, and a testament to Aaron McKee.
48:37That's really cool, man.
48:38And listen, guys, we've been, we've been on for like an hour and 20 minutes.
48:41We have to take a break.
48:43Our sponsors are strangling us right now.
48:45I want to thank each and every one of you for being a part of this.
48:49Zach Spiker, John Griffin III, Jay Wright, Aaron McKee, Ashley Howard,
48:53our four-time champion, Steve Donahue, and the amazing Mark Zumoff
48:57for our City Six, uh, uh, Papa Shot Challenge.
49:00You guys are the best.
49:01We love you.
49:02Thank you so much for being a part of this once again.
49:06That was absolutely.
