00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Houstonbets and today's video is all about the Manchester Marathon.
00:06And that's because it is rapidly approaching and there's lots and lots of information out there for those who are participating and those who are spectating.
00:13So without further ado, let's jump right in.
00:16Now the marathon itself is happening this Sunday the 27th of April and it's the second biggest marathon in the country.
00:21This year a record 36,000 people will be taking part and to be able to differentiate runners they'll be wearing different coloured bibs.
00:28And these bibs will be based on the time they'll be starting the marathon and they're all included in your participant packs.
00:34Now male and female elite racers will set off first at 9am and they'll be joined by white bib participants.
00:41After that a different group will set off every 10 minutes until 11.30am.
00:45Now I'm going to quickly blast through the order for you.
00:47It's going to start as I say with white bibs and elite racers followed by red bibs, blue bibs, bronze bibs, light green bibs and purple bibs.
00:54And then at 10am yellow bibs will set off.
00:57They'll be followed by navy bibs, grey bibs, maroon bibs, orange bibs and black bibs.
01:02At 11 it'll be pink, followed by cyan, dark green and finally coral bib participants.
01:08Results for those who are participating in the race will appear on the website around 45 minutes after an individual has finished their race.
01:14So don't be concerned if it takes a while for the times to be uploaded.
01:17And for those spectating there are a number of great vantage points across the route but some areas have been chosen in particular to try and spur races on from those spots.
01:25These include Deansgate Interchange, Holm, Stretford, Sale, Altrincham and Chorlton-Cumhardy.
01:31There's also an all day fan zone on at Circle Square which will be offering some free fitness sessions and some great food and drink options.
01:37Now I know there's a lot of information there but Sunday is set to be a really great day for all involved.
01:42So happy racing and thank you for watching Manchester World.
