00:00Now, Tottenham's season has unravelled after a promising start and attention is now turning to the key moments that derailed Ange Postacoglu's tenure.
00:11Despite early optimism, Spurs' form dipped at decisive stages, raising major questions about what went wrong and what needs to change.
00:21A lack of defensive resilience, mounting injuries and a thin squad exposed cracks in Postacoglu's high-intensity approach.
00:29Key defeats in winnable games halted momentum, while tactical rigidity left little room for adaptability during tough spells.
00:38These turning points ultimately derailed their top four hopes.
00:43We spoke to James Trembath of London World, who emphasised the importance of keeping Spurs' core young players and building around them.
00:51With the right reinforcements and more squad depth, Spurs can reset and come back stronger next campaign.
00:59James, it's been a bit of a slippery slope this season for Spurs.
01:05And, you know, right up until, you know, maybe even February, you know, early March, we were sort of on the fence of what to do in terms of Ange's tenure, Ange's, you know, position at Spurs.
01:16Do you feel there's been a biggest moment, a sort of breakthrough moment where the whole fan base started to turn?
01:23Obviously, there was that period of the protests as well towards the board.
01:26And then, you know, the results just didn't improve.
01:29I think maybe you could probably pinpoint that moment where, you know, Ange had blamed the injury situation for months and months and then suddenly had a full squad and the results weren't really improving.
01:40So do you feel that could be the biggest moment when we look back at Ange's tenure that's likely to end this summer?
01:47Yeah, I think for me, that's a real telling point, actually.
01:52You know, towards the end of sort of October, November, we were on a run of nine wins in 11 games.
01:57And, you know, we were really, really purring.
02:00Obviously, we went to the Etihad, we won 4-0, went to Old Trafford, beat Man United 3-0 and we beat Aston Villa 4-1.
02:05And it was just showing signs of clicking into gear.
02:09Injuries have then completely ravaged us.
02:11And I think for me, looking back on it, it's probably two things.
02:14It's Ange not changing during the injury crisis.
02:18You know, the team is built around Van de Ven, Romero, Udogan and Porro.
02:22You know, those inverted full-backs, that pace in terms of the back four and that aggressive press.
02:27When those guys are not there, you know, Ange just hasn't changed.
02:30Bar the Man City game where Dragas and Davies played at centre-back and we dropped 10 yards and never gave Man City a sniff.
02:36We seem to have always tried to play the same way.
02:38And I think, ultimately, that's going to bring him down.
02:41And, you know, I'm all for a manager sticking to his principles.
02:44But, you know, we saw against Frankfurt, we change a little bit.
02:47We don't be as aggressive and we just adopt that slightly different tactic.
02:51And, you know, we can still be a very, very effective side.
02:53So I think that's sort of point one in terms of Ange for me, his tactical ability to be flexible.
02:58I think we'll count against him.
03:01And I think point two is very much, as you've just said there, you know, the injuries.
03:05We had a, you know, very valid excuse around the injuries.
03:08We could hide behind that.
03:10We've now got a fully fit squad, barring one or two.
03:12And, you know, things just haven't changed.
03:16I get, you know, players need time to come up to speed and we're making four or five changes around the Europa League games.
03:20But really, barring that sort of first game against Frankfurt, when we really did play very well, there hasn't been too much for fans to shout about.
03:29There's been the odd flash here and there, but we've just not been able to consistently put it together for 90 minutes.
03:34And, you know, the individual mistakes and the defensive frailties are there for all to see.
03:39You know, the concentration, you know, against Nottingham Forest, it was two poor mistakes from Vicario, similar against Wolves, you know, Romero.
03:48He's, you know, one game in three or four, he produces, you know, world-class performances.
03:52The next two or three, he just don't look interested and he's running around like headless chicken.
03:55So, something's amiss, you know, because the football isn't AngiBall football anymore and, you know, we're still not getting the results and just losing every week.
04:05So, I think they'd be the two key sort of factors for me.
04:08And obviously, you know, you could throw into the mix as well when he starts turning on the fan base as well.
04:13There's been little, you know, fracquals with various fans.
04:16He's called us out once or twice.
04:18And I think that was another sort of nail in the coffin, really, if you like, for his tenure at Spurs.
04:23And, yeah, it's a shame because when he came in, he was a breath of fresh air.
04:27And, you know, that first season, first 10 games, he looked, you know, like he could be the man to sort of recharge us.
04:33And then, sadly, the wheels have come off one by one and it's been a bit of a car crash ever since.
04:39And, you know, he'll go down as one of the worst managers in Spurs' history.
