Marcos says wage hike under study in response to workers' call

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. says on May 1, 2025 that calls for a wage hike should be studied carefully, citing its impact to businesses and the economy. 'We hear the call of our workers for better wages and assure you, that your concerns are being addressed through RTWPBs (Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards),' Marcos said in his speech during the 123rd Labor Day celebration at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. 'Government stands firm in its commitment to protecting and advancing workers welfare while promoting inclusive economic development,' he added.
