00:00Perak police said they had arrested four people, including a Vietnamese woman, in four drug-related
00:07raids recently. They also seized drugs worth more than 4.6 million ringgit in the operation.
00:14State Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said during the first raid on May 5th at
00:20a hotel in Sitiawan, a 39-year-old suspect was arrested for drug trafficking. He said the suspect
00:26then led the police to a car parked in front of the hotel, and upon inspection, police seized drugs
00:33suspected to be cannabis. He said police believed that the syndicate had been active since March
00:39this year, and the drugs seized were intended for local distribution. During the second raid,
00:45the police arrested a couple, including a 24-year-old Vietnamese woman, at a house in Simpong
00:51Tiga, for drug trafficking activities. They seized substances believed to be MDMA and equipment
00:59which was used for packaging. They also detained another suspect in a follow-up operation at an
01:05apartment in Sitiawan. The following day, the police also raided a drug packaging and storage
01:12site in Lumut. Police said all the four suspects were tested positive for drugs, and they had
01:18previous criminal and drug-related records. The suspects have been remanded until May 11th
01:24to help with police investigation.
