A pleasant and dry evening for most as high pressure continues to influence the UK. It will be a clear night, however it will be feeling cooler in places with frost possible overnight. Mist and fog patches also expected. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the evening of 08/05/2025. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Honor Criswick.

00:00Hello there, good evening.
00:02Many eastern areas have felt the chill this week, but is it going to get any warmer as
00:06we head into tomorrow?
00:07Well, before we get on to that, let's take a look at the overnight period.
00:11So it should be a rather pleasant evening, staying mostly dry across the country, but
00:15under clear skies, temperatures are soon going to dip away, possibly even seeing some frost
00:20by the time we reach the morning, and maybe even some mist and fog in prone spots.
00:25So a few areas, particularly rural areas, just dipping below freezing, but many areas
00:29in the mid to low single figures.
00:33So a chilly start, some mist and fog, but that should clear away fairly quickly.
00:37And then on the whole Friday, the end of the week, looks like it's going to be a pretty
00:40pleasant day, particularly across the central areas, where they've seen quite cloudy skies
00:44this afternoon.
00:45It's going to brighten up nicely wall-to-wall sunshine for many areas.
00:49Away from the northwest though, a little bit of cloud just starting to spill in here, potentially
00:53some light outbreaks of rain across the very far north of Scotland into the afternoon.
00:57But on the whole, a dry, pleasant end to the week, and feeling much warmer too.
01:02Highs of around 21 degrees Celsius, but it's really in eastern areas where we're going to
01:06feel that warmth, particularly after a chilly week.
01:08Some areas seeing a good three to six degree difference if you compare it to this afternoon,
01:13so much more pleasant in the sunshine for these spots.
01:18And then to finish off the day and heading into Friday evening, once again, plenty of
01:22clear skies to finish off the night, still more cloud pushing into the very far northwest.
01:28Once again, they're sick enough to produce some light outbreaks of rain at times, but
01:31on the whole, a dry night, plenty of clear skies, so once again, feeling a little bit chilly
01:36by the time we reach the morning, lows touching around five to six Celsius, but perhaps a degree
01:41or two lower under the clearest skies in rural spots.
01:44So once again, for the beginning of the weekend, a little bit of a chill in the air to start,
01:49but otherwise, another pleasant day ahead.
01:52Very nice start to the weekend if you have any weekend plans, lots of sunshine around.
01:57Once again, it's into the northwest where we see a bit more cloud moving through here,
02:01mostly staying dry.
02:02It might just make the sunshine turn a little bit hazy.
02:05The very far northwest might catch some rain.
02:07Western areas of Northern Ireland too might just catch the odd shower, but otherwise, lots of
02:11warm sunshine, highs of around 22 degrees Celsius.
02:16Then for the rest of the week, it should be largely fair.
02:20Once again, lots of sunshine to come away from the northwest, still this pesky front dragging
02:25in more cloud, potentially some light outbreaks of rain at times.
02:27Then we do just need to keep an eye on this area of low pressure here, pushing up across
02:32the far southwest later Saturday into Sunday.
02:35It could potentially bring some thundery outbreaks.
