Russian Official Suggests Trampoline as US Space Travel Means

Due to the situation in the Ukraine, the US has placed sanctions on the Russian space industry. In response to that action, one Russian official tweeted, "I propose that the United States delivers its astronauts to the ISS with the help of a trampoline.”

Since NASA shut down it’s shuttle program, American astronauts have been hitching rides to the International Space Station with their cosmonaut counterparts.

While the sanctions put several other Russian rocket services at risk, experts don’t believe that the country will actually pull the plug on its arrangement with NASA.

One analyst pointed out that at 60 million dollars per person, they’re just not in a financial position to cut off access to US astronauts.

The same official who recommended trampoline travel warned that US will not emerge from the actions unscathed.

He feels that the decision to compromise the Russian space industry will come back to haunt NASA and American space efforts at large.

That sentiment was echoed by the director of a Moscow think tank who told the press, "This is a very sensitive issue since our defense industry was completely unprepared for such developments. Both sides will suffer…”
