Match.com has pulled a dating profile that caused quite a bit of concern among users, as it was believed to belong to the ‘Cannibal Cop’.

Match.com has pulled a dating profile that caused quite a bit of concern among users, as it was believed to belong to Gilberto Valle, who is also known as the ‘Cannibal Cop’.

Valle was convicted of planning crimes that involved the abduction, slaying, and eating of women in spring of 2013, but was months later acquitted and released.

The judge presiding over the case felt the prosecution was unable to prove that the accused was doing anything more than engaging in ‘fantasy role-play’.

Nonetheless, when a dating account surfaced featuring pictures of Valle and an interests list that included cooking, many brought it to the company’s attention.

The profile, which carried the name AmicableOne14, requested that respondents be the type who can find the best in an imperfect situation.
