A Flower Has Been Grown In Space For First Time

Astronaut Scott Kelly has posted images of the first ever flower grown in space.

The first flower ever grown in space is a zinnia. 
On Saturday, astronaut Scott Kelly posted two pictures of the orange-and-yellow-looking flower to Twitter from onboard the International Space Station.
A few days prior to the flower's blooming, Kelly had tweeted an image of mold on the zinnia plant's leaves as part of the process chronicling the plant’s growth. 
The space agency is currently using the Veggie plant growth facility on the station in order to prepare for the eventual goal of having astronauts engage in autonomous gardening on deep space missions.
