Conway Calls Trump’s Tweet About Being Under Investigation An Attempt At Irony

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway appeared on Fox & Friends Monday morning to clarify that Trump’s Friday tweet about being under investigation was simply his attempt at irony.
That tweet read, “I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director! Witch Hunt”
While it seems pretty straightforward, the waters got muddied Sunday when Jay Sekulow, a member of Trump’s legal team, said publicly that the president is not under investigation.
The following morning Conway swooped in to help the public make sense of it all.
She told the show’s host, “That's the president's personal lawyer. He's saying nobody every notified the president that he's under investigation...What Jay Sekulow went on to say was that was the president responding to a Washington Post report that included five anonymous sources. And that's the president, in his 140 characters, through his significant social media platform...telling everybody, 'Wow, look at the irony here.'"
