The White House announced Thursday that Melania Trump will lead the US delegation to the Invictus Games in Toronto, Canada.

There will be over 550 people competing in the 2017 Invictus Games and First Lady Melania Trump will be leading the 90 U.S. participants, reports the Washington Examiner.
Prince Harry of Wales established the games in 2014 as a means of inspiring and offering support to wounded soldiers, notes The Hill.
This year’s competition will be held in Toronto from September 23 through September 30, and events include swimming, archery, powerlifting, and wheelchair rugby.
In a statement released on Thursday by the Office of The First Lady, Mrs. Trump commented, “I was heartened by the great success of the inaugural Invictus Games that took place in London…and the second games in Orlando, Florida last year. In just two short years, the Invictus Games have allowed thousands of injured and wounded servicemen and women from many different countries to participate in adaptive sports competitions – something that should be lauded and supported worldwide. I am honored by the opportunity to represent our country at this year’s games.”
