This documentary focuses on 17th-century rebel Guy Fawkes, who banded together with other disaffected Catholics to kill King James I by igniting a cache of gunpowder stored beneath the House of Lords. The `gunpowder plot' was set to take place on November 5, 1605, but was foiled when Fawkes was captured and tortured for the names of his co-conspirators. Here, counter-terrorism expert Haras Rafiq, author Alice Hogge and historian Ronald Hutton assess whether Guy Fawkes was a heroic rebel, or a fanatical terrorist motivated by religious extremism.
