00:00 Good afternoon to all of us.
00:01 Here is our update for the Egyptian typhoon.
00:04 The Egyptian typhoon is a strong typhoon
00:08 because it has accumulated energy while it is in the ocean.
00:12 Now, the wind speed of the typhoon,
00:15 which is close to its center,
00:16 is 110 km/h.
00:19 Meanwhile, the wind speed is 135 km/h.
00:26 At present, the center of the typhoon is 560 km
00:32 east of the coast of Marinas Norte.
00:34 Its wind speed is expected to be
00:38 west-northwest at a slow 10 km/h.
00:42 Meanwhile, it is continuously pulling the southwest monsoon or "habagat".
00:48 This "habagat" is affected by southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
00:55 Here is the forecast track of the typhoon Egy.
01:00 You can see that the typhoon Egy is expected to move north-westward.
01:08 In the next 12 hours,
01:12 we expect the typhoon Egy to track
01:16 west-northwest or westward.
01:20 At most of the forecast period,
01:24 the center of the typhoon Egy will remain at the coast.
01:30 There is a possibility that the center of the typhoon
01:35 will approach or landfall in the extreme northern Luzon.
01:40 We expect that on Wednesday,
01:45 the center of the typhoon will be near the extreme northern Luzon.
01:52 The track that is generally north-westward
02:02 has a possibility of changing its track
02:06 from north-westward to westward
02:09 or to make the movement of the typhoon more stable.
02:14 In the next 24 hours,
02:16 we still expect the typhoon Egy to be a typhoon.
02:20 The super typhoon is possible on Tuesday.
02:25 We expect rapid intensification
02:30 of the typhoon within 72 hours.
02:34 If the typhoon Egy interacts with land,
02:40 especially in the Batanes area and Taiwan,
02:44 we expect it to be a typhoon before the power is released.
02:49 Now, there are places under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1.
02:56 The places under this are the eastern portion of Cagayan,
03:02 eastern portion of Isabela, Catanuanes,

03:19 These places are prone to rain and wind.
03:28 Today, we have a strong example of rain.
03:34 50 to 100 mm means we expect moderate to heavy rains in Catanuanes.
03:41 Tomorrow, we expect heavy to intense rain,
03:46 equivalent to 100 to 200 mm in Catanuanes.

04:34 in Apayaw, Abra,
04:36 eastern portion of Ilocos Norte,
04:39 Ilocos Sur, La Union,
04:41 and eastern portion of Cagayan.
04:44 Moderate to heavy rains in Pagasinan, Isabela,
04:49 and eastern portion of Cordillera.
04:53 In other parts of our country,
04:57 we expect moderate to heavy rains,
05:02 and sometimes, strong rains,
05:05 like in Habagat or South West Monsoon,
05:07 in Palawan, and in Western Visayas.
05:10 The mentioned areas are
05:13 likely to have flooding or landslides.
05:19 So, we ask our fellow countrymen
05:21 to know the safe places,
05:24 to be careful of the expected rains,
05:28 like floods and floods.
05:31 In the area below wind signal number 1,
05:41 we expect minimal to minor impacts.
05:49 We still expect to see tropical cyclone wind signal number 304,
05:58 based on our forecast track,
06:00 especially in the extreme northern zone.
06:03 But, we do not expect that
06:07 if it changes direction,
06:11 like I mentioned earlier,
06:13 to the north or westward,
06:15 not only the extreme northern zone,
06:17 but also the area below wind signal number 3,
06:20 in other parts of the zone,
06:22 we expect to see tropical cyclone wind signal number 3 or 4
06:28 if the weather track changes
06:32 or if it starts flooding the country.
06:36 In the area of South West Monsoon,
06:44 we expect strong winds,
06:49 especially in coastal areas
06:53 and high altitudes.

07:09 Tomorrow, we still expect strong winds from the south
07:13 in the Calabarzon, Maropa, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula,
07:18 and northern portion of the northern Mindanao and Caraga.
07:24 On Tuesday,
07:26 we expect strong winds from the Luzon and Visayas
07:30 due to the high altitudes,
07:32 northern portion of the Zamboanga Peninsula,
07:35 and also the Dinagat Islands.
07:39 Today, we have gale warning.
07:43 The red one is the gale warning.

08:26 the yellow ones,
08:28 which are not under the gale warning,
08:31 will also experience high waves
08:35 where the high waves can reach 4 meters.
08:39 So, it means we should be careful.
08:43 Let's not worry about the ones
08:45 that are under the gale warning
08:47 because of the high waves
08:50 where it can reach 4.5 meters.
