00:00 What's going on everyone?
00:00 It's Taylor Kiles here for CLNS Media,
00:02 and we're looking ahead to some of the most compelling
00:04 position battles heading into the Patriots training camp.
00:07 This segment is sponsored by FanDuel,
00:09 America's number one sports book.
00:11 Today we're taking a look at the outside
00:18 cornerback position, where Christian Gonzalez
00:21 and John Jones should have the spots locked down
00:23 when the team is in two cornerback groupings.
00:25 Now when the team fields three receivers,
00:27 the assumption would be that John Jones bumps inside
00:30 with Jack Jones playing on the outside.
00:32 If Jack Jones isn't available when the Patriots resume camp,
00:35 I'd expect that role to go to someone like Marcus Jones, who
00:38 though he is undersized, showed both in college
00:41 and at the NFL level that he can be a solid contributor
00:43 as long as he's not matched up with receivers
00:45 who are six feet and above.
00:47 Though Jalen Mills did convert to safety this offseason,
00:50 his experience at cornerback makes
00:51 him another potential option when the Patriots play
00:53 bigger receiving cores.

01:05 Late round draft picks Isaiah Bolden and Amir Speed
01:07 have the size and athleticism to thrive at outside cornerback,
01:10 but have yet to prove they can do it at the professional level.
01:13 So they're likely going to have to carve out
01:14 role as special teamers early on.
