Transcript
00:00 I expect the youth will lose all their competition.
00:06 They will lose in all the seats of the parliament
00:10 because I am sure that the voters will not vote for the youth
00:15 because they will vote for the Pakatan Harapan,
00:21 a long-standing party-political coalition in Malaysia
00:25 that has proven their ability to establish a government.
00:32 Is MUDA on the path towards irrelevance?
00:34 According to a political analyst,
00:36 the party may be heading that way
00:38 given its limited participation in the August 12th state elections.
00:42 Mazlan Ali of University Technology Malaysia said,
00:45 MUDA's decision shows it is not a mainstream party
00:48 and cannot serve as a viable alternative
00:50 to Perikatan Nasional, Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan.
00:54 He said MUDA risks going down a path similar to Pujuang,
00:57 Parti Sosialis Malaysia, and Ibrahim Ali's Putra,
01:01 which he described as small parties
01:03 without a track record of winning in any election.
01:06 Mazlan warned that the decision to contest for seats
01:09 previously held by PH risks widening MUDA's rift with the coalition
01:13 and may see the party completely rejected for being disloyal.
01:17 James Chin of the University of Tasmania concurred with Mazlan.
01:20 He said PH would become even more incensed with MUDA
01:23 if PN were to win seats due to a split in votes
01:26 of Muddha's candidates.
