00:00 Anwar Ibrahim has been granted an interim injunction against Sanusi Noor in his ongoing

00:04 lawsuit against the caretaker Qadhaf Munti Basar by the Al-Urstar High Court yesterday.

00:09 Anwar had filed the suit against Sanusi last December after the PAS leader allegedly insinuated

00:14 that the PKR president was "immoral".

00:17 The injunction, which was granted by Justice Mahazan Mattaib, bars Sanusi, who is also

00:21 the Qadhaf Bariqata National Chief, and his staff and agents from repeating the alleged

00:26 defamatory remarks until the disposal of the lawsuit.

00:29 Anwar's lawyer, Esen Nair, said, "Sanusi repeated similar defamatory utterances and

00:33 statements in two charamas recently, despite being fully aware of the lawsuit."

00:38 Nair said, "In the event Sanusi were to repeat the same, and commit a breach of the

00:42 terms of the injunction, it would amount to a contempt of court and he will be subjected

00:46 to committal proceedings and be liable to damages."

00:50 In his statement of claim, Anwar alleged that Sanusi implied he had abused his powers as

00:55 an MP, was deceitful, a traitor, a hypocrite, and not a good Muslim.
