00:00 So we're at the Ola Future Factory manufacturing plant, the world's biggest two-wheeler manufacturing
00:10 facility and with us we have the Ola S1R.
00:14 So let's take a look at the all-new S1R up close.
00:18 Welcome to Drivespark, my name is Heydan Johari.
00:25 The all-new Ola S1R comes with a lot of new features compared to the older version and
00:30 starting off, instead of the single front suspension that it had, it comes now with
00:36 twin telescopic suspensions and moving across the scooter we see a dual-tone finish with
00:41 the lime green and the black making it a very nice contrast, something that will easily
00:46 catch the eye and over here we have a flattened footrest which makes your seating position
00:54 very comfortable, you don't have to move around to find a comfortable position as such, your
00:59 feet are just planted perfectly and here we have a newly designed grab rail which adds
01:06 a lot more beefiness to the scooter, it gives a very rugged look and coming to the rear
01:11 we found a single suspension in the older models but now we have a twin rear suspension
01:17 which adds a whole lot of value to the ride feel, to the stability and the handling of
01:23 the scooter.
01:24 This scooter is based on an all-new frame and a platform and now it's known as the Ola
01:28 S1R Gen 2 as compared to the first generation S1R.
01:33 So talking about the instrument cluster of the Ola S1R, it retains the same instrument
01:38 cluster as the previous generation but an updated software called the Move OS 3 and
01:43 you get similar features like what you used to get in the older generation.
01:47 So the boot space of the scooter is 34 litres and you can fit two half-face helmets in there
01:52 comfortably, however a proper full-face helmet is a little too big for the depth of the boot.
02:00 Apart from that, there are no in-your-face changes that are there on the scooter, it
02:06 still has the same look as the previous model which for an urban commuter is honestly a
02:12 right fit.
02:13 Coming to the specifications of the scooter, it has a 2.98 kilowatt battery and a 4.5
02:20 kilowatt rear hub motor which produces a maximum torque of around 115 Newton-metres.
02:27 So it has three ride modes, Eco, Normal and Sport and it can achieve a top speed of approximately
02:34 90 kilometres per hour.
02:36 On our short test ride that we got, I managed to get a top speed of around 86-87, so I'm
02:41 pretty sure it depends on the outside conditions and the rider's weight and build.
02:45 The new suspension setup on the 12-inch tyres is honestly a great ride feel, the power delivery
02:52 is very linear, it's not aggressive.
02:56 So the scooter is not designed to be a performance scooter as such and more of an urban scooter,
03:02 but regardless around taking corners at fairly decent speeds, it's quite stable, it's not
03:07 uncomfortable, it doesn't bounce too much and they've done a great job as from the first
03:12 generation to the newer generation with the new suspension setup and everything.
03:17 So all in all, it was a great experience riding the Ola S1 Air.
03:21 However, there could have been maybe a little more power on the sports mode, but nevertheless,
03:27 it was still a foreign urban scooter more than enough.
03:31 So now looking at the scooter, we have this lime green and black fuel tone finish and
03:36 it's a new colour scheme that's introduced on the all new S1 Air, not seen on the previous
03:41 models and along with this colour scheme, we see six new colour schemes also and now
03:46 coming to the price of the scooter, up until August 15th, the S1 Air comes with an introductory
03:53 price of Rs. 1,09,000 and after 15th of August, it comes to Rs. 1,19,000.
03:59 So this was just a first ride review of the Ola S1 Air and stay tuned to our page for
04:04 a detailed review once we get the scooter in our hands.
