00:04 county for Thursday August 10th. Following an appeal to identify a group of men involved
00:09 in the assault of a man in Brighton in March, a suspect has been arrested by Sussex Police.
00:13 Two further men Sussex Police also wish to speak to have now been identified as well.
00:17 Police are trying to locate three more men who they wish to speak to who may hold key
00:23 information about the incident. The 31 year old victim suffered serious facial injuries
00:27 when he was attacked near the Railway Bail Pub in Surrey Street around 10.45pm on March
00:32 3rd. Two bladed articles were seized last weekend during Operation Valley, Sussex Police's
00:39 summer crackdown on knife crime and serious violence. Operation Valley officers carried
00:44 out 15 stop searches resulting in two arrests for possession of a bladed weapon and three
00:48 arrests for drug related matters as well as a seizure of Class A and Class B drugs. Operation
00:54 Valley officers also made seven vehicle stops. In East Sussex a man was arrested and charged
00:58 after one of these stops led to the discovery of a lock knife and in West Sussex Operation
01:02 Valley officers attended five incidents involving serious violence and or weapons. And finally
01:08 a yacht that suffered engine failure while near Eastbourne was rescued by local volunteers
01:12 the RNLI has said. Crews from Eastbourne's RNLI were paged at 3.11pm on Monday August
01:17 7th to reports of a 37ft yacht with a failed anchor and engine issues. Volunteers then
01:22 launched the all weather lifeboat the Diamond Jubilee and made their way to the vessel's
01:26 location where it was safely towed to shore.
