Thunderstorms will rumble over part of the Great Lakes and Northeast through the end of the week, bringing the risk of flooding, hail and damaging wind.
Transcript
00:00 thunderstorms will be rumbling in an eastward fashion as we go into this
00:05 evening. Some risk of severe weather, meaning severe thunderstorms in parts
00:09 of the area already earlier on today. Reports of damage coming throughout New
00:13 England. These thunderstorms have had some potency to them as we talked about
00:18 the severe thunderstorm warnings and even earlier on today, some tornado
00:22 warnings. Accuweather local storm acts of 70 MPH again. Thunderstorms will be
00:27 sliding their way in a northeasterly fashion, though, is we work our way
00:30 toward the evening. In fact, around 6 25 to 7 o'clock. Notice the bulk of
00:33 those now pressing their way out toward the east into far north New England.
00:37 And once the wind switches around toward the west, that's going to be the
00:41 change where we start to see the bulk of the activity move its way out. The
00:45 amount of humidity will be dropping and the forcing for those thunderstorms
00:49 will be sliding again throughout Maine and out over to the open waters off the
00:54 Atlantic. So some changing conditions coming up later on today will start to
00:57 see that severe weather begin to depart by this evening temperature wise for
01:01 this afternoon into this evening. Look at the numbers here around Syracuse and
01:04 Pittsburgh. Wow, we're into the seventies, so below the historical
01:08 average running very close to the historical average around New York,
01:11 Philadelphia and our nation's capital. And whereas we've been talking about
01:15 severe weather today here into the northeast, especially into New England,
01:19 we're gonna be talking about something different here this weekend. There will
01:22 be some haziness in the sky. You'll notice that here to some of those
01:25 lighter concentrations of smoke pressing their way into a buffalo and
01:28 also toward Pittsburgh, the greatest of the concentrations, the heavier plumes
01:32 of smoke staying well northwest into Wisconsin and also into Minnesota. And
01:36 you also notice as we work our way later on today and especially into and
01:40 through the upcoming weekend, you might say a little more September like,
01:45 right? Well, initially, yeah, we're gonna be talking about highs into the
01:48 seventies and also into the eighties. But then we do bounce back here going
01:53 into Sunday. Notice the numbers here toward Pittsburgh, heading out toward
01:56 Philadelphia and New York, climbing into the upper eighties, close to 90
