00:00 The MWSS asked for P845 million for the construction of the Kaliwadam, which was approved by the Commission on Audit.

00:08 In their 2022 audit report, COA decided that the MWSS asked for not only a lot of money for Manila and Manila Water,

00:16 but also it was included in the concession agreement of the water concessionaires.

00:20 COA also suspended the MWSS from asking for additional expenses,

00:24 except if it was approved by the Department of Finance.

00:28 The MWSS said that they were also in agreement with the memorandum of agreement for the construction of the Kaliwadam,

00:34 which was also signed by the water concessionaires.

00:37 For now, there is no expense for the Kaliwadam project that is being charged to the consumers.

00:42 But they said that by 2026, the expense for the Kaliwadam will be reduced to 81 centavos per cubic meter.

00:49 The Manila Water and Manila Water and Manila Water refused to give an explanation.

00:53 The case of graft against former officials of the Budget Department and some officials of Farmily Pharmaceutical Corporation was ordered by the MWSS.

01:02 The most guilty were the budget undersecretary Christopher Lau and two other former officials of the DBM.

01:08 Some officials of Farmily, including the brothers Mohit and Winkle Dargani, were also charged.

01:14 According to the resolution of the MWSS, the respondents have been charged to award more than P4 billion contract for RT-PCR test kits in Farmily,

01:23 even though there are other companies that can supply these in a lower price.

01:27 This was also made saddened by some of the most guilty officials of Farmily.

01:32 They will wait for their day in court to prove that they did nothing wrong and that politics is the root of all evil.
