00:00 The Lions strategy to rest their starters during the preseason has worked out tremendously thus
00:04 far. John, what do you have to say regarding that for the Lions? Yeah, Vito, I think it's a league-wide
00:11 trend and I think it's a positive trend. These joint practices give these teams an opportunity
00:16 to see what good on good produces. I think that all these NFL teams want to reduce the risk of
00:23 injury. You never want to see a starting caliber player be carded off or not have the opportunity
00:28 to play in a season. And especially for the Detroit Lions this year, I think the opportunity
00:34 that they got to practice against both the Giants and Jaguars gave the starters an opportunity, an
00:40 ample opportunity, to get a lot of reps, to get a lot of competition against two teams that are
00:45 projected to be really solid. And I know, Vito, that paying customers want to see starters. Some
00:50 will make the argument that Jared Goff and the first team offense should maybe play a series
00:55 and just to get out there to get rhythm. But, Vito, let me tell you, as a person going out there
01:00 every single day to training camp, when they ramp up the practices, when they compete, when the
01:06 Lions first team offense goes up against the defense, it's pretty solid. It's a lot of good
01:11 work and I think it's ample enough to have training camp practices where there's hitting,
01:16 live tackling, and opportunities to learn and grow. So, maybe this will start to signal maybe
01:22 a preseason game going away, but I'll say this, Vito, I think that for any NFL team that wants
01:28 to have a productive season, resting starters is probably the best idea. John, thanks for all the
